Picked this up at Daytona Beach Store Surf Shop, whack name IMO but they did have the best selection among the 6 shops i traveled in btwn. To say the least, they have some interesting characters working there haha. Both guys i talked to seemed to know their stuff, but also the new boart prices were at ~$500 vs like $750 what u usually see around. Need to get nose n rail by it cleaned up and same with fish tail(s), but they said it's "watertite". Anyways, it's an Ormond Beach shaper

Nice. Looks like it has plenty of float, and a fun-looking template. Enjoy the ride!

Nice - It's almost the same outline as a WRV Funfish I had a long time ago that was one of those boards that just always seemed to work in anything from waist to head high. I've never had a 1-board-quiver kind of mindset, but this was probably as close to such a board as I've ever had.

Just bought airline tickets to PR. Crossing fingers that Surfline and Windy.com have their forecasts correct.

also @CJsurf I saw this morning PR guvn'r took down some restrictions that will be in effect on Feb 2nd. So no proof of vax test w/in 48 hrs of travel and other thangs, but that one obv is the big one. Didn't see airlines update that this morning on their website, but i'm gonna take another look on Monday

Not vaxxed so still have to get tested before departure. Same system as when I went last year.

    Damn

So we can now go to Puerto Rico if fully vaccinated without having to show a negative test? SUITE!

I've been dying to travel to there or Hawaii for two years now, so I'll be making the trip in February.

I have a buddy that moved there years ago, so I could stay with him if I wanted, but I usually wind up coming with another buddy and having another buddy in California meet us out there, so we usually VRBO something.

I called my buddy in Rincon earlier and asked him about the lifted restrictions and he says he don't frickin know cause he don't leave the island, other than by boat cause one of his friend's has a big boat that he takes to the Cayman's, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Turks and Caicos, etc and other Carribean locations. And the entire time I'm on the phone with him he tells me if I would just frickin move down there already like he did I wouldn't have to worry about coming and going lol.

Travelling to PR has been easy all along. You go to CVS or Walgreens and get a rapid test within 48 hours of departure, upload your results on the PR Travel website. They send you a QR code which they scan when leaving the baggage claim on arrival. This is my 3rd time. Its easy.

buddy i'm going with tested positive for covid for about 10 days. He had a sore throat and that's all, but kept testing positive. That 10 days ended less than a week ago, so while it can be easy w CVS (which i had planned to meet with today) it's also a bit nerve wrecking if for some reason you test positive. Again, glad those restrictions are gone. We're moving around the whole western part of the island. Staying in San Juan Friday night, Aceribo Saturday(by Los Tubos), Aguadilla Sunday, and La Parguera Monday, fly out Tuesday. Looks to be firing, can't wait

Have you ever surfed Los Tubos? It's one of my favorite waves in PR, and a great place to dive when it's flat, too.

Since I was a teenager, I have dreamed of visiting a surfing camp with my father. I recently came across this site -- https://swellsurfcamp.com/, and I think that soon I will go to a surfing camp from this company. I've been surfing since childhood and always wanted to get into a similar camp where only surfers. And every day to communicate with new people, get advice and surfing experience from them, because it's so cool! I often heard my friends talking about how they went to the surfing camp in the summer and really liked everything there. But our family had financial problems at one time, so I couldn't afford it.

Newbie here. I do enjoy reading other's surf trip experiences on here, as it is something that makes me feel good and look forward to pulling one off myself in the near future, hopefully later Summer.
I am debating a summer trip with my brother. He wants to do somewhere in the Indian Ocean, Australia, somewhere like Thailand or the Philippines, perhaps somewhere in the Mediterranean. We'll it over some more over lunch in a little while.
