The movie bra boys had alot of sick fights in it... Those guys are absolutely nuts. Nowhere around me gets that bad though. . . I have seen a kayaker run some guy over and it reallly f*cked up the guys board and the surfer dragged the kayaker back to shore and cursed him out but i haven't seen a fist fight yet...

i saw one about a month in a half ago at 1st street jetty. some kook barely tapped this guy's board when he dropped in(or attempted to) on him. the guy who was cut off apparently knew him and drove him there. he started to threaten to leave that guy there in the parking lot all night while the kook said he was going to slash his tires. so that guy paddled over, gave his board to his other friend, and beat the $h!T out of him. it was so weird to me cuz that day out there, it was only about knee high!

    This Thread is Pointless

    This thread is pointless...

Big storm on the way, it's Friday, lots of tasty waves coming on Sunday... great time to be alive.

No need to discuss the worst, most idiotic part of our sport.

Best fight I ever saw was back in the 80s at the OCMD surf beach. Some kook dropped in on one of the locals for the 2nd time and the guy called him out on it. the offending kook mouthed him off but wouldn't take it to the beach so the guy looped his leash around his neck and drug him to the sand and beat the living sh&t out of him. When a guard tried to stop it, the guy beat the crap out of him too! Pure gold and he totally got away with it since no-one who knew him would rat him out.

that dude got worked and lumped up, how do you try to fight kainoa or any other north shore clan by yourself after you were an idiot and didnt get out of the lineup. I mean cant even give the dude props for fighting back, thats just dumb. Imagine he was a navy seal or blackbelt and tore all those dudes up? haha

People talk. thats it. I hear people talking about fighting everyday. I share the lineup with the same old, washed up locals, starting **** with every kook in the water. its soooo fu***in lame. People act soooo fu**ing tough in the water. I tried to fight a local when i first moved out here cause he was talking shi* to me. He told me that I better not paddle around him when the sets come. When I was floatin in the inside position for five minutes. He just thought I would let him right back up against the pier because he was a local. Then he threatened to "teach me a lesson" SO i told him to meet me on the beach so I could beat the fu** out of him. I had a bad day and stood on the beach screaming and taunting the dude for 10 minutes. That b**** local stayed in the water. People talk too much. People get too personal. And people think they are locals too much. I mean, I haven't lived in OC MD for a decade, but when i go back there, i surf like i never left. I get the stink eye at 48th street by the locals, but I respect them, i follow the rules and i dont blow waves, so although they dont like me being there, I dont just give them priority. Its like they expect it. I mean, half the time at 48th st, some locals will paddle right back around me after they get a wave, when im literrally as far north on the jetty as you can be to go left. So, i end up just going back around them and sitting 5 yards past the jetty. I mean, no matter where you go, guys think they are entitled to sh**, and YOU NEVER ARE. even if you live on 48th st and sleep on the beach, you dont get anymore waves than anybody else as long as they are don't as4holes. Sorry for the rant, but everyone is an angry as$ in the water, but they need not be...

If you find yourself surrounded by kooks with foam boards and no respect, you should probably re-evaluate where it is that you are surfing. If you are at a place where its packed, and people are dropping in., Just keep driving... I hate guys out in the lineup in August on a Saturday at NOON screaming about crowds and kooos. Its like, dude, its fu**in agust, on the only surf beach in the whole city. There are board rentals on the sand... Who are you complaining to!??? If you were out at sunrise like a real surfer, surfing which every beach you want before the lifeguads kick you out, then you woulnd't be talking sh** and starting fights at 48th.

yea I hear ya man, its pretty *ay if you ask me.

I had little run in at spring lake, some local long boarder who i do give credit cause he charges at his age, pulled a total kook douceh move. I paddled out, chillin, right by jetty minding my own buisness more towards inside but on the peak cause I knew 2 guys were already on the peak waiting to set wave..so left them there, no big deal, not gonna swim up and try to snag there waves. But literally there were total of 4 of us out at like 6am dawn patrol in summer.

This dude has decency to paddle by me and ask me why Im surfing there when there are tons of other spots, I was like what? what did you just say? kept paddling nothing happened session went on as normal.

Same week paddle out and same dude by himself, so just me and him, paddle right up and ask him was it you that asked me why I was surfing here? he goes, yea...im like and why is that I surf here regularly in the summer and depending condiitons might in winter? Hes like I never see you out here? hahaha..this douce, I just left it like that and everytime I see this guy I dont even pay him any attention or even look his way.

Moral of the story is, I wasnt even disrespcting him and he talked *hit to me like he was on the north shore. This old *rt kook who thinks hes cool cause he surfs spring lake everyday.

Not from up there...but carolina beach is pretty country, seen knifes pulled and a few fights a year...gotta love the 45 year olds trying to run the lineup, but in a way i guess they've earned it. Have some common sense and anyone should be fine anywhere.
