I have a 1/2" tear on one of my gloves. I've never had to repair neoprene before but I know they make glue for this purpose. Any good brands?

Aquaseal works great find it at any shop, Just make sure you clean (prep) the repair spot well and dry it before you apply it.

I always used aquaseal....But, I just recently started using this other brand....I can't remember the name but it comes in a container that looks like a PVC cement container. Works better then aquaseal IMO.....I got it from Spells in Allenhurst

O'neill makes a glue that comes in something that looks like a rubber cement container.
For gloves i would just invest in a new pair because they are the cheapest piece of rubber to replace and my hands are usually the first thing to become cold after 2 hours... Just my 2 cents

I see what you're saying, but I always try to fix things before I get rid of them. Its just how I roll I guess.

It's called Seal Cement and it comes in a metal container with a brush connected to the top that twists off. It's $7.95 and you can get it at Allenhurst Spellbinders for sure. It's great because it stays elastic and it's black, aquaseal gets hard and also turns yellow.

Just to let you know aquaseal voids warranties the ones that look like rubber cement dont (just food for thought) (at least on oneil suits it does)

I use to use this black rubber cement made by 3M products. It dries overnight and stays prelly flexable . Way better than Aqua Seal does . I belive the Home Depot sell it for like 5 bucks

Use the neoprene cement if you can. It's the real stuff... I always use some tape, too, on the inside of the tear. You can remove it from old suits sometimes. I peel it off in big strips and keep it before I trash my old suit. But... as a last ditch effort, to get that last session in, if you don't have time for the cement, you can use Crazy Glue. I've done it dozens of times, and you can be in the water in minutes. But... it dries hard and will eventually fail, so it's not a true repair. Just a trick that can get you in the water so you don't miss the swell...

Well this solution worked for like 2 weeks. Now I'm in the market for new 5mm five finger gloves. I guess I will hold out for Whiskey to post some unless anyone knows another cheap vendor?

    I wouldn't advise AquaSeal

The Aqua Seal they typically sell in surfshops is thick, and clear, but from my experience it yellows with age and even worse, it hardens and becomes a prime source of skin irritation. Standard industrial strength neoprene cement (from most any dive shop or similiar supplier) comes in a 4oz metal can http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=11374&pdesc=Seal_Cement_for_Wetsuits_Drysuits&str=wetsuit&merchID=4005 and works just like contact cement. You use the can [IMG] internal brush to swab both edges that you are planning to join, and let them dry for 5min. Then re-coat each surface and let dry for another 10min before joining the pieces together- just like two pieces coated with contact cement. Just be careful not to overdo it. Slopping glue everywhere usually makes things worse.

And unless your seam is a critical stress point as well, I wouldn't recommend stitching unless you can do a blind stitch. All those little holes just invite more cold water flushing.
