Cool, I went to Brookdale 25 years ago. Wish I still lived up there for this.

Thanks to everybody who signed up... still spaces open. If you signed up, think about buying a kit and building a board WHILE THE CLASS RUNS. Do each step every day the class meets, and you'll have a finished board by the end of the week. Bring in your work if you can, and we can take a look at what you've got going...

The class will run in March (15-18) and May (17-20). It is a non-credit course, but people have used it as a "project" for credit within a course. I'm not sure of the cost, but it's around $175??? You can call the school to find out more...732-224-2315 (3).

Well... I'm no professor, but yea... I teach the class. I taught high school physics for 10 years, and I've been building boards and surfing for over 30 years. So I guess it's just where my head's at. It's a great buzz being able to build boards that look beautiful and ride great, and I know there's a lot of people who think the same way. The class is fun, and he'll learn a LOT.

I use Greenlight. The owner, Brian, is a great guy and has quality stuff in stock. His website is greenlightsurfsupply.com, but he might be updating it. You can order by phone by calling 215-805-1506 and drive to Phila. to pick up your kit. Call first so he can package it up for you... saves a TON in shipping, which would normally run about a hundred bucks from those guys out west. He does a lot of "green" board building materials, too, like bamboo cloth, EPS cores, bioplastic components... He also carries Resin Research epoxy, which is one of the best (in my opinion THE best) surfboard specific line of epoxy products available today. You can buy shaping kits, glassing kits, or just order a blank, cloth, resin, fin boxes, leash plugs... separately.

Nope... you just gotta be able to handle an electric planer without taking your fingertips off. Everything else is hand tools and razor blades.

Still spots open for the March and May classes. March is filling up. Max enrollment is 15 heads. May is still pretty much wide open at this point.

I just talked with LBCrew and there's only 2 spots left for the class running March 15-18. Get on it quick if you want to learn from an excellent teacher.
We're putting together special discount surfboard building kits for the people who enroll in this class: a US Blank, fiberglass, epoxy, and a leash plug for only $150. You can also choose to include a ProBox fin system install kit for a thruster or quad in addition to the kit.
Contact us for more info on how to get the discounted "class kit" and for those who haven't enrolled yet you can call Brookdale to sign up (732-224-2315)

Last chance to get into the March 15 shaping class... For those taking the course, get yourself a board kit and be ready to shape your own stick as the class goes along. Best way to get your own first board done, in 4 days, is to put the knowledge you get each night to use the next day while it's fresh in your mind. PM me if you need some advise on how to get set up.
