I'm planning on my next surf trip to be my best!

Heading to Bocas Del Toro, Panama in less than 3 weeks.

Nicaragua was pretty sweet - offshore winds all day long is pretty hard to beat.

    Indeed.

But my best surf trips were all back between 2001-2007 to Baja. 1000 miles of empty point breaks and zero surfers in the water... And some carnitas! Can't really beat that. Haven't been in over 8 months, too sketchy... im very sad. =(

Kauai, Santa Cruz and Cabo were the best. Wintertime Florida trips are always fun, even if the surf isn't exactly epic...

Puerto Rico. Warm, consistent, cheap, not too far away, and it can absolutely pump. Once you get the place dialed, you can be in the right place at the right time and score.

Check out Eva Airlines it runs flights out of Newark to Denespar with two stops in Anchorage and Tapei. Check out their website but depending on the dates you can swing a round tripper just over 800...

El Salvador a few years back was uncrowded overhead pointbreaks & La Bocanna is an awesome A frame reefbreak. Even the people who did surf, the talent level wasn't very high so you could get yours at most spots. Everything off the beach was a sketchy but a cool experience all the way around.

They're now showing $935 round trip, including "fuel surcharge" (hasn't the price of oil gone down recently?). Not bad. 24 hours of total flight time though. Yikes.
