Looking to see if anyone has some good surf blogs that they know of??? I'm an office worker and sit in front of the computer all day, thinking about surfing...so it's good to be able to pass the time looking at some good surf content.

    Meaningless plug here: www.surfersdesk.com

    Check it....

I'm the main contributor to a blog that's semi-centered around surfing in the Mid-Atlantic region, more specifically VB/OBX. It's through a local shop here called Surf and Adventure Company. Click here, the go to the blog link (shameless website traffic assist).
It's a new blog, but you may enjoy the content. Fresh update coming later today/tonight...

The Barneys Guide to Surf Etiquette

You can usually spot them before they even enter the water, the people that have their board, no idea what they are doing, but feel that they own the water as much as every other person at the beach. Perhaps the good thing about them finally making it out into the line up, is that they are usually are so tired that they can’t even try to paddle for waves. They sit on the shoulder or on the inside, and paddle right back out in everyone’s way once they get caught inside… the barney. This never ending guide to surf etiquette should help you not look like idiots, and better yet, not make other people hate you in the water.

Seaweed, Cockfights, and Quiet Nights – Nusa Lembongan

You get off the ferry at Nusa Lembongan after crossing one of Earths deepest channels from Bali (so I was told). After leaving Bali, where everything is easy; the food, accommodation, and parties, Nusa Lembongan is a relief for a traveler looking for a little bit of adventure. You are hit with the aroma of seaweed as a large majority of the islanders are seaweed farmers, but the scent eases away after a couple of hours once you become used to it. Initially I had come to the island in search of a cock fight.

Dane Renolds Unwilling Legacy - SurfersDesk

Kurt Cobain read Burroughs, wore flannel shirts, and kicked it in the same beat up Chuck Taylor’s for years on end. With the release of ‘Nevermind’ in 1991, Kurt Cobain was anointed – however unwillingly – as the spokesperson for a new generation. Not only musically but in dress and attitude as well. Glam rock died overnight as grunge took over the world.

Taking a Wave on the Head like a Champ

Chances are, if you’ve ever paddled out to a new spot alone when it’s firing you’re feeling a couple of emotions. Emotion #1 – Excitement, you can’t wait to get out and get the barrel of your life. Today is the day that you’ll get it and you just have that feeling (just like the last day it was firing).

SurfersDesk - First Design of the Nicaragua Vacation Home

Here is the first design that we came up with ourselves. Obviously, none of us are architects, but it will give the designer something to go off. We don’t want to have the place over the top, but nice and roomy with an open area downstairs, enough room to accommodate people to come over and enjoy themselves. The total under roof square footage would be around 3000, it gives us something to work with, perhaps decreasing it slightly.

SurfersDesk - Surf Assaults up 100% in Tofino

Yes you read that correct. Localism is out of control as surf related assaults in Tofino have risen from zero incidents to one. Media sensationalism at its best – stay away from BC the locals are crazier than the Wolf Pak…they beat up female surfers.

    Surfing with a Thong

Surfing is hard enough, you have a lot to concentrate on; the waves, crowds, rocks, paddling, etc. Do you think some girls put their thong on before they go surfing to distract guy surfers? Probably. Does it distract me? I try not to let it happen, besides, catching that next wave (and my GF) is way more important then some girl in a thong…. but do they ever make it hard sometimes.

I know it's more of a site than a blog, but I literally can't start the day without sneaking open a tab for magicseaweed.com. I love the site and I especially love just gawping at the photos. It's got such awesome people contributing to it.

Comments and discussion tend to be a bit niche, bordering childish, but other than that it's superb.

Good feed though - would love to read more, always!

    Planning your Surf Vacation

This is the perfect way to plan this trip…..one day you’ll think about the date and you’ll want to book a flight. The longer you can put it off the better, you’ll be able to watch the weather and possibly track a swell, giving you a better chance for some great times. Today is February 19, nine days before March, the proposed time so I better get on this.

    Web Worthy: Daily Shaka

Daily Shaka become a site that I check daily very quickly, and it usually takes a few weeks to break that list. It’s a one stop site for all the surf blogs out there, a custom RSS feed that is updated for you! Hooray!

    Where the Hell to Stay

Depending on where you stay can make or break your trip, so it’s good to do a lot of research before you head down. It’s not vital for all trips; I’ve had a lot of great trips where you stumble in to some guest house, and it turns out to be the best thing ever…. but if you’re going someplace for 1 or 2 weeks, why not make sure that the place your staying is going to be awesome. Here are a few factors when choosing your hotel/motel/guest house/camp spot.
