Inevitably the days you leave open will be flat. Sorry, that's just the way it works.

Just schedule your classes for midday spread evenly throughout the week so you can go dawn patrol and then get back to the beach after class for an evening sesh.

I used to always pile all of my classes up on Tuesdays and Thursdays... and then literally get all my work done Wednesday. Then i had a 4-day weekend to surf!! I managed to do that for about 3/4 of my semesters through college.

Better yet, why don't you tell US what days you scheduled classes on so we can all expect great swells those days

Dont know where you are going to school, but as strange as this question sounded, every swell that has been 20ft+ for the past decade on the west coast, have all hit the coast on Wednesdays... for 10 years. There are waves the rest of the week, but the swell peaks and has the most perfect conditions on wednesdays out here... Now that I said that, it will never happen again, but its funny, every two years on the west coast, the post an article called "BIG WEDNESDAY" because it seriously is always on a wednesday.... I surfed the cove on a wednesday earlier this year... The only days it broke all year were on a wednesday and thursday....

    Strange....

there is no way there is any significant correlation to day of the week.

Months, Seasons, yes... not day of the week.

    be optimistic

Not yet......dont doubt future science, and good forcasting for one day they will let us know. if you really wanted to you can log every day there is good waves, and just round all those numbers and get the average of how many waves per day each day, thus getting our AnSWER.............vise versa looking into the past with old surf forcasting

your best bet is to take night classes or pile all your classes into 1 or 2 days....keep in mind you have sick days, but use them wisely

Do the tues/thurs schedule. I have a 4 day weekend, plus wednesdays to surf.Plus a 2 hour break in between classes on tues/thurs. Can literally go to class around the waves:cool:

I'm not sure that these posts are claiming there is any correlation between days of the week and days the surf is good.

Hypothetical: Lets say that historical record tells us that of all the good surf days in the past, Wednesday edges out in the lead. This historical record of good surf has ZERO correlation with anything weather related. It just so happens that this is the case, for no reason other than a weird fluke in probability.

The mistake of this thread, is assuming that taking this historical data (which doesn't exist?), and using it to predict future good days of surf, might actually merit a positive result.

Inductive reasoning of this kind is completely untrustworthy, and as swellinfo said before, has zero correlation to any type of weather patterns...... but then again....if your a bit of a gambler, why not follow the trends when planning your schedule? It's not going to hurt haha.
