Anyone who surfed the Cove (sorry to name drop) yesterday afternoon: I accidentally left my board and gloves on the sidewalk by the entrance to the beach (totally spaced; I know, I'm an idiot). Left at about 1pm. Went back by 3pm and it was gone. Board is one-of-a-kind hand-shaped by me:

6'3" bright orange resin tint. Quad. Has my signature on the stringer: Jamie Meiselman. Logos on top and bottom: "Shore Points"
Also left my 3MM Xcel Drylock gloves on the board.

If anyone knows the whereabouts, please call me: 646-286-3054
    No questions asked.

    Thanks,
    Jamie

I must have gotten distracted. I had a bunch of boards in the car with my friend. Board was in front of my car on the sidewalk, totally out of sight. I guess all of these waves the past few days waterlogged my brain .

Dude, I did the same thing 2 summers ago. Put my board on the sidewalk while I changed. Had two other boards in the back, so when I pulled away, I had boards etc and didnt see my new epoxy fish on the sidewalk. Got home 5 minutes later, realized what happened, went back to the scene of the crime not even 10 minutes later... Gone. No one saw a thing. Sucks. I never got mine back. It was extremely distinct too. Good luck. I would start checking the local pawn shops in a week or so. It was probably taken by a scumbag who doesn't surf, but is looking to get rid of it.

I too always wondered how people could leave boards around to get stolen, thenI lucked out yesterday. Opened my shed with all my boards in it, popped my trunk, and left my car keys in the shed door. Grab my wetsuit and walk it to the backyard, wash it off .......... then walk inside...forgetting to get the boards out of my trunk and lock them in the shed. This was at around 5pm. Laying in bed at about 11 and it hits me, I left my trunk open with two boards in it, and the shed door (directly infront of the car) wide open with my whole quiver inside, and my car keys right in the lock.........thank god noone took anything, I could have lost my entire quiver (and car if they were ballsy enough).

This makes me feel a little bit better
I have an APB out with one of the better known locals there and hopefully Duke Storm will be posting something as well. Worst case, I will shape another! I still have the template.

    Thanks everyone for the support.

    Artie,
Thank you so much for the tip. I have reached out to the guy who posted it and hopefully we will connect.

I was hoping it would turn out like this. Gotta love the internet and the coconut wireless...

    Truly a bummer. . .

When you make the new board, glass in a new label that says "Idiot" as a perpetual reminder of your faux pax. You're not likely to forget it ever again.

Picked up the board yesterday. Thanks to Joe who posted on Local Swell and to Will at Island Style for being great human beings. Gloves are gone, but that's a small price to pay.

    lost orange board

I saw your board on the walkway right in front of my car before I left the lot myself. I just assumed it belonged to someone who was nearby and didn't want it run over. You might want to check Derf's shop (Island Style) in Sea Bright. If it was there till dark (and not stolen) and a local found it that's where it would be. We don't steal boards. The Rangers are good about that too because one surfs the spot regularly. They might have picked it up as well. Good Luck
