This trailer is posted on another site I am on so I figured I would pass it on http://www.jerseybrosthefilm.com/Jersey_Bros___The_Film/Home.html
Yeah it looks really good . I was reading his blog he has some good interview and footage there as well.
Can you post the trailer Matt? What is he standing on in the picture? Ain't got them 'round my parts.
Sorry here is the link to the trailers. He has a few of them . David McCarty is the guy making Jersey Bros . If you look on his page he is from Goshen , NJ which is 5 min from stone harbor. http://vimeo.com/8636790
nice looking cinematography and music, but with all the nice surf we had this past summer you figure the trailer would show off some of the bigger surf we saw. The trailer didn't do it justice.
I think its kool to have a surf movie and see breaks you frequent often. It the Nov 13 Nor Eastern trailer I saw my self in the line up in the part where they were shooting at broadway . I think it was somewheres around 2:33 i think. As far as the trailer not doing it justice. I think thats kinda what he is going for . Jersey Surfing is taking what your given and using it to your advantage , I feel that this is gonna be a great surf movie and I cant wait for the premeire
I agree with firewire... I think the cinematography and editing is very well done. If you read his website, he says, "Jersey never gets any respect. It’s an old joke", and I think that comes from people showing not so good surfing or waves, just like this trailer does. But if you continue to read on, he isn't trying to show how good Jersey gets, but rather the life of typical NJ surfers. I think the idea is awesome and should come out good..but at the same time... I think there should be better waves/surfing show in the film.
don't get me wrong, i'm interested in the film, but i hope there's more to it than a day of crappy wind swell and weekend warriors. I also heard Rob Kelly's name announced at the competition, so hopefully there's some of the pro's from NJ along with epic days documented too.
Well there is more than one trailer for this movie . Some stuff was shot at Poverty and Some footage was shot at broadway during the Double Nor Eastern in November. Dave's got some footage of some pretty well know surfers from NJ. I guess your missing the point of the movie.
The point of the movie is to suck cape gay sucks big time wow it gets good for a half a day maybe 4 times a year and then the tide ruins it
LOL everything you posted shows you lack in intelligence and you lack of local beach knowledge I will admit Cape May is not as good as it was few years ago. It just makes your local knowledge of the beaches in the area all the more important. Not everything is given to you , Sometimes you gotta work for it.
Setting The Record Straight A friend was reading the recent thread concerning Jersey Bros and I thought I'd set the record straight. So, a little info. I'm David McCarty, the filmmaker behind Jersey Bros. Most of what was said was accurate in that this is a film more about Jersey Surfers than Jersey Surfing. That said, the clips floating around were just random stuff. I'm not posting my film online before I release it. To date, I have not yet released a trailer. Because of the nature of the film (there is a lot of interview footage), I wanted more footage to give the trailer a sense of scope. I may end up shooting specific scenes in order to create a trailer, though. I'm considering it. I have been shooting all my surfing footage from land and even with good lenses, it's harder to make look great. I'm investing in underwater gear this Spring which will truly make a huge difference to the look of the film. Finally, while I began filming friends and local spots, I've begun moving beyond South Jersey and have people coming out of the woodwork, asking me to come shoot their favorite spot, 70-year-old still surfing father, etc.... Plus I have several national sponsors interested in the film and I will be shooting many of their surfers. Some names that I've shot or who have agreed to be shot for the film are: Dean Randazzo, Rob and Chris Kelly, Andrew Gesler, Jaime Moran, Sam Hammer....and others. So for those concerned that the film will just be kooks on softtops, making Jersey look even worse, I assure you, it will not be. While I am not interested in making yet another surf porn, killer surfing on great waves is a must. Thanks for your support.
David, thanks for the post. I just to want you to know by the look of that film that it was shot top notch. I really liked the lighting and color of the film. It was very appealing and drew me in. If i had the chance I would watch the documentary all the way through and accept it for what is it is and isn't. I see the point of the documentary, surfers and not the surf. I hope the best for you and can't wait to see it. I would however like to see some real tasty epic jersey, but I realize that a film like that would take a few years to accumulate the necessary footage for s film like that to be made. I hope that your next documentary is something in that direction. good luck!.
