there i said it. now you can all cry about it and tell me i'm an asshole. i'm still dropping in on you.
yeah yeah you're an asshole but longboarders do have the advantage of taking off farther out so i can see how that pisses you off, pisses me off sometimes too. . .
If you can't beat'm, join'm!! I love shortboarding but in the summer crowds it feels real good to take off deeper than everyone else on 9'+. Besides, it's all about riding waves right? So go get a long board and quit complaining.
I would never ride a longboard or a sponge for that matter but seriously, that doesn't mean that I don't have respect for both. If you don't give any respect, you won't get any. Mr. "ihatelongboarders" why don't you post a pic of yourself so we can all "GREET" you when we see you out
i respect that wavehunter! i bodyboard but have tried surfing both short and long, i enjoy and respect both, "ihatelongboarders" is just that one person who has to be in the spotlight on forums bc his surfing cant do it for him!
walking in running just slower what do you do in the summer when it's knee high and clean and all your friends that don't surf can go in the water because it's warm and you want to hang out and have some fun A)aggressively pump and sink like a kangaroo just to awkwardly whack a section and fall or B)longboard, cruise the line, do spinners joke and laugh. . . what do you do when it's 6ft E swell hollow closeouts with a west wind breaking in a foot of water A)drop in with a shortboard pull in and have the board stab you when you fall B)longboard and never make a drop or C)sponge and get sick closeout barrel rides without the chance of fiberglass killing you, i don't know i think every method of wave riding has it's place and yes i will shortboard 95% of the time and do B and C 5% of the time but i had fun 100% of the time, that's the whole point. . .
100 % agree w/ that. everyone has their preferences, and isn't the overall vibe out in the water to be super stoked and have a blast? At least thats why everyone that I know surfs... and plus the more board you got, the more room you'll clear out as you cruise through the summer crowds....
Mkay, well let me slightly rephrase what I wrote perviously........ I would never sponge or longboard when the waves are good, like let's say Valentines Day. They definitely have their place but for me my first love is the good old shortboard.
I hate longboarders, they take my waves, waaah, waaah. I don't care what I'm riding, I see you drop in on me and your ass (can I say that?) is getting run over.
