woody's is terrible. 7thstreet is my favorite... But now i usually search online for the deal. bought a xcel infiniti 3.2 brand new for 70 bucks a few days ago..
Yeah I here ya .Its like if you not apart of the little click they dont want you buisness. Plus they stuff is all over priced
I went to 7th street when I was shoping for suits . I must have stood there for 15 mins before someone came up to me and asked if I needed help ( which I didnt I knew what I wanted just couldnt find my size). Plus I called 7th looking for a fin for my single fin the guy insted that a standar longboard fin wouldnt work in my 6'8 single fin I went to Sufer supplies they hooked me up with a 7.0 bonzer fin they knocked the price from 60 to 40 bucks cauase it had a scratch in it. Good surf shops are hit or miss. You got go in them when the people who know what they are selling are working I use to go to Legends Surf Shop in OC NJ . They sold maily longboard stuff and retro shortboards
Liquid and east of maui all the way. When I often go to Cape May i often stop by southend surf shop (not sure if its still around) cause thats where it all started for me. Also i was at some coastal edge down in VB when there was a Bam Margera demo and they hooked me up with a nice watch for pretty cheap

Eastern Lines, Spellbinders, or the BNW in Little Silver. I have to admit though, half the time I get stuff through WhiskeyMilitia for obvious reasons.
Great post! I love getting the info on small shops. I too have had good and bad experiences at a variety of shops, but Heritage in Margate seems okay for gear, boardshorts and end of the season sales. I like to think the extra money that I spend at a local shop goes back to the local surf scene, upcoming groms and helps the community, but I may just be naive in that thought. Need any skategear and are near philly go to EXIT skateshop in fishtown. Very cool guys that will point you to the good skate spots in philly and the back room has killer deals on shoes, sandles, vans, etc. Thanks again for this post-good stuff.
No Flat Earth is a great little shop...it may be a bit inland (5 miles...in Brick), but Mark (the owner) knows his stuff, rides the gear he sells, and will always go the extra mile. He is also in the water almost every day before the shop opens, whether its waist high or overhead. Check 'em out.
Rising Sun in Forked River, NJ. I'm good friends with the owners and they're really chill. Gotta keep it local.
Natural Art in Hatteras. Wavejammer in Lavallette. non-shortboard or longboard Beach House in Bay Head. support local shops.
