    Sup guys, ladies

I just wanna know if anyone in NJ is wearing a 4-3 right now? The water is 42. I may sound crazy but i haven't surfed in a few months due to my 5-3 has gotten too small for me. I feel like a fish out of the water. So, I don't have the funds right now for a new suit. Just wondering if I could charge it in a 4-3? If so how long do you think i can last?

Thanks I'm dying to get in the water.

I am wearing a 4/3 in DE and the water is in the low 40's. I was perfectly fine for a few hours. In fact, I have never owned anything thicker than a 4/3.

Yep, I use a 4:3 all year unless the wind gets really strong, then I go to the 6:4.

I usually don't switch to the 3:2 until the water temp. is around 55 degrees. Around May 1st give or take a couple of weeks. Although last week I was talking to a guy in the water who claimed to be wearing a 3:2. I'm not sure if he was truthful or not cause it was cold and windy and I was cool in my 6mil. If you're only going to be out once or twice in April, you might try it as long as the wind isn't blowing to hard.

I was just in jersey last weekend and had a 5/4 with hood, boots and gloves and lasted about 2 hours.

You can probably do a 4/3 but you need hood, boots, gloves...5-7mm thick.

I dont think a 3/2 will work right now. I dont put my 3/2 on until the water is 50 degrees.

for 1 year I did a 4/3 Billabong 3mill gloves and booties_psycho style and was good for an hourin md. If I did not paddle I was cold. but after a good wave or a good paddle I was fine.
4 hours was a limit and REAL cold. 1 hour to 2 hour, I was good. After that I was a big shiver and unable to talk till the warm shower came. All depends on your tolerance and body fat

Yep, 4/3 is where it's at. I go straight from a spring suit to a 4/3, there's no good reason to have a 3/2 in the mid Atlantic unless you've just got alot of money for whatever. I surfed all through college down in Emerald Isle, NC with a 3/2 for 4 winters and I was miserable and then 2 winters here in OC with the same wetsuit...... I can honestly say that my investment in a 4/3 XCEL was sooooooooooooooo worth it... Not even enough O's in the last sentence to describe it. Anyway, Moral of the story, if you're here in the mid atlantic, (and all will agree with me) buy a good 4/3, well worth the investment, if you buy a 3/2 you might make it through some miserable winters like I did, but save yourself the trouble and get a good 4/3. :)
