Yeah, usually june for MD also... but last year I was in a 3/2 till july.

I have a question on this too. When do the temps start to rise again? I've been in a couple years now, but never really seemed to notice. I ask because this morning I was out for two hrs and my feet went numb twice (fins prob don't help). No holes in my boots, but this is their third winter, so they are worn pretty thin... just wondering if I should stick it out or pick up some new ones.

There are changes in water temperatures that occur even during summer months that will have you changing from a shorty to boardshorts and back to a shorty. Micah explained this one time before. It has to do with wind directions and current and upwelling and a host of other things I don't really understand. :)

ya.. in general S or SW currents are going to cause upwelling - bringing up cold water, so there are times even in july when there is a strong S/SW current, you'll be scraping for that 3/2. in contrast an N or NE current seems to warm things up.

Generally, the water starts to warm up around the beginning of April. It will stay in the low 40's until then. I would expect to see low 50's around the beginning of May and 60's by the beginning of June. 70 by the end of June. Of coarse these are just general temps. As stated by others, the temp. can change day to day with upwelling, gulf currents, etc.
