does anyone know of any good drainage ditches (like in lords of dogtown) or banks to skate/longboard in or near marlyand? i know of one in westminster md but thats it
Dude. Drive to frederick. They built a sick skate park in Hilcrest a few years back. Saw it last year. Its a really good setup. Stop by Pitcrew in downtown frederick on Market St. They are arguably the sickest skate company in MD so they will point in the direction of anything in Fred/DC/Balt and all of western MD. Good luck. I dont skate but I grew up with some guys that skate for them.
No. Landsdown is in South Baltimore. Its a cool place, but its pretty basic and its been around for ever. So, hopefully it has been well maintained. Last I saw it about 8 years ago it looked pretty beat. If you are in Bmore, Charm City is a sick place. They had a bunch of ramps and a park setup in like Highlandtown in Baltimore.
sick thanks for the tips.. yeah im lookin for a longboard type of skate spot for pumpin and stuff landsdowne seems like a perfect spot for that
I was looking around on websites and it looks like you might need pads and a helmet for lansdowne now. Anybody know?
I haven't skated that spot in a few years, so some or all of this might be completely different now. 1. No pads and no fee to get in. The rumor was they would be building a more modern park next to it and then charging fee's but I am not sure if that ever happened. 2. When you get to the top of the hill and turn right you look for a path on the left that goes right between two row houses. Its very easy to drive right past. If you hit the bottom of the hill again you missed it. 3. Don't park and leave a nice car or leave any valuables out in the open. It's located in not the best part of town and you can't see your car from the skate park. My good friend had all his windows smashed in and tires slashed while we were skating. 4. Take a push broom just incase There is also sawmill skatepark in Glen Burnie off Dorsey Road. Its two tennis courts converted into a small park but its free and you can turn the lights on and skate it all night. http://skatespotter.com/spot/glen-burnie-sawmill-skatepark-3211.html
A lot has changed since you have been... There is no fee to get in but you have to sign up for a card and show it to the man at the desk each time you go. You do need full pads and helmet or expect to be told to leave. There is a gated entrance to Lansdowne at the bottom of a no outlet street with a parking lot right outside of the park in visible sight. No need for a broom, the park is pretty well taken care of everyday. The new addition to the skate park has already been made. It is a street skating addition with ramps and a mini half-pipe right next to the concrete area.
yea lots has changed. its not in a good area but its not bad where your going to get your tires slashed for driving a nice car. just watch ur back
It definitely was that way when I use to skate it. But there was also no man at a desk or any real maintenance to the park. Glad to hear it is now!
