Ok i know this might sound dumb but idk what to do. I just started driving and i reliezed that i have to put my keys somewhere when i surf. I don't want to bring a backpack on the beach so i was just wondering what everyone else does

Most wetsuits have a key pocket....and boardshorts have a pocket....both have a loop, slide the loop thru the hole in your key and slip the loop around the bottom end of the key

do your keys have a little chip in it like most newer cars do now a days? also does your car have a keypad on the door with numbers so you have code to get into it? finally do you have a trailer hitch on your car?

i have an older truck with no computer chip key,so what i do is,throw my key chain in my center console & lock the truck.then,i take the spare that i have in my wallet & put it in the pocket on my boardshorts & hit the waves!!! throughout my session i check & make sure it's still in my pocket ,that way i never loose my keys on the beach ever.it's the best routine for me anyways.....:)

I don't know if its Reef or Quicksilver that make a sandal with a pocket in the sole of the heal. My key has a chip in it, so I bring a small bag with me.

Stash the keys somewhere on the outside of your ride!

Almost all leashes have a little pocket where you velcro around your ankle, i always put my key in there. it feels a little weird at first, but you get used to it quick.

honestly just look under your car for a good little hiding spot that the key wont fall from or slip into something, a spot where no one would even take the effort to look if someone were to try and steal the keys

I always put mine in the gas tank door if I don't bring a bag with me. Never fails.

And I think I might need to clarify that I dont put it in my actual gas tank, just between the door and the little twist knob device that you take off before pumping gas.

    ;)

Find a spot somewhere under your car. Nobody's gonna get on their back and shimmy under there just to look around... just in case there might be a key stashed somewhere. Avoid the obvious places, of course...

the shop rite near my house sells these black magnetic jobs that you can put a spare key in. i got one of those, dropped my spare key in it & stuck it under my truck. it works really well & i don't have to ever worry about being locked out. i just have to remember where i placed the magnet! i try to move it around to a different spot each time i use the key, so that someone doesn't see my truck & be like, "oh, i know where the spare is, i'm gonna rip him off." i before i got that, i used to just throw my keys up under my bumper somewhere & leave it at that. worked fine. never had an issue at all.
in case my description wasn't good, here's a pic of what i'm talking about:

Reef makes them I got my wife a pair of them she says it works real well

I just leave them in my Landrover. That thing has enough hiding spots in it . If I go someplace that I dont frequent offen I lock and put the key in a safe place when nobosy is looking

the ignition is busted on my car and you don't need keys to start it...

I use an old screwdriver that i keep on the dashboard, i highly recommend this method...

if your key has a chip....

you may have gotten three keys: a big one that does all, a valet key that won't open trunk, and an all metal key that only opens the door (that's the one you can get wet). if you didn't get the last one, have an all metal dupe made of the valet key. it'll open the door.

    or

meet a chick , knock her up, raise the brat, and when he/she is old enough, take em to the beach so they can watch yer sh!t while you surf. this also solves the "i'm too lazy/tired/fvcked up to get up and get another beer" problem

The only advice I can give is to check where you're hiding your key there is no hole the key can fall into. My friend used the gas door method and his key fell between the outer and inner quarter panel. Never saw the key again. Luckily he only lives 5 min from that spot. There are lots of holes everywhere under the car so check out your hiding spot before you try to hide your key. Magnet holders work well.

bike or walk to beach. remember the millions of barrels of spilling oil as you free yourself from your car. i live in philly, take the train to AC and ride my bike to various spots. keep my gear and boards at my friends place in ventnor.
