My ship's team played the Algerian team when we pulled in port over there. Needless to say we got beyond slaughtered 22-0.

And we also played in the soccer city stadium, it's awesome!

    90 mins

It's not a sport, it's 80 mins of trotting & 2 total mins of sprinting when the ball is nearby....

Baseball is probably the most boring sport. Just my opinion. It might not even be a sport. It's 2 1/2 hours of standing and 1/2 hours of trotting.

If David Wells and Mo Vaughn can be some of the best baseball players of their era, well then... same for golf, if John Daly can be one of the best golfers, then...

Pitchers don't have to be athletes. they need to hit their spots and have a deceiving pitch. that's got nothing to do with being a good baseball player. and mo vaughn was only good because he was one powerful mother****er who could get a hold of one.

what most people dont realize is that it takes a lot of skill to be able to place a ball where you want to place it with a WOOD bat. much different than aluminum. 415 ft. shot with aluminum will only go about 325 with wood, and much less pop.

look at derek jeter- one of the greats- he's a great athlete. Tiger woods, another great athlete. Joe Mauer is a great athlete. Bryce Harper is probably one of the strongest kids in the world right now. the list could go on.

mo fuc**ing vaughn??? are you serious? look at his sh!tty stats with the mets. what a bust of a player. he sucked for the mets bigtime. thats why i still hate steve philips, so called guru of espn baseball and sexual addiction. Not to change the subject, i'm a mets fan and hated mo vaughn.

but seriously, i plyed footba;lll and baseball and was all state in both, i never really liked soccer growing up until i watched the world cup in 1998. From then on I was stoked on world cup, gold cup, champions league, all that stuff. its great fun. If you can't appreciate it then too bad, but you really cant compare sports to sports. I can find a baseballl gaem boring, or a football game boring. Who the hell wants to watch detroit on turkeyday? not me. that sh!t is BORING!

Point is, you don't ALWAYS NEED to be an athlete to play a sport like Baseball or Golf. Does it help (more often than not)? Yes. But is it necessary? No.

That is exactly like lacrosse. Where I am growing up in Maryland, the lacrosse games draw a 15x bigger crowd than baseball all the time. Even last year, the lacrosse team wasn't exactly the dynasty they'd always had been and the baseball team had the Maryland Gatorade player of the year. But when I talk lacrosse with friends from non hotbeds, they say how boring it is. When really it's because the teams they grew up around suck.

With soccer, the people think it's not entertaining because the MLS sucks for the most part.

So my point is is that if you know the game and it is popular where you live (i.e. lacrosse in Maryland, soccer in the rest of the world), you grow up around it and you like it a lot more.

I'm a mets fan and I didn't like Mo Vaughn either. He was in his prime with the Red Sox, and was way past his prime on the Mets. I never said he was good with the mets, but his overall stats were pretty good with the sox.

I took Germany from the beginning. USA doesn't have enough talent and if we won, it would still not become a (meaningful) spectator sport in our lifetime. Our country just generally doesn't like soccer/football and I'm not saying agree, but its the truth. Ich liebe Deutschland!
