Per our previous conversation, about my need for a fish/shortboard hybrid that doesnt crap out in good conditions, and allows a more sliding, whipping tail. This looks like the one. And it also has 5 fins plugs to switch between quads and thrusters... I think this would cover all the bases, since a bunch of guys were recommending that I try out the quad setup... This way i need not commit either way =)

I always wondered how those boards with 5 fins worked i thought you could switch it up but i never knew, and is it made so you can surf with all 5 fins in? if you get it tell how it is

I dont think they would have made it like they did if you were not supposed to use all five.

if you tried to surf this board w/ 5 fins in, it would be stiff as hell. check the placement of what would be the rear quad fins...way forward of the center fin. for it to work as a 5 fin, all 3 rear fins would prob. need to be aligned, like greg griffen's modfish design. the 5 sets of plugs are there to enable the rider to switch between a tri & a quad & decide which he/she prefers.

zach, i think that if this board fits your size range, you should jump on it!! it's a good price & i've heard lots of good things about album surfboards! i keep waiting for one of his shapes to pop up in the erBB classified section in my size range! i think this board, w/ a few different fin options, would fit exactly what you were looking for/talking about in the previous thread.

I wonder how it would ride set as a tri fin but instead of using the front plugs, use the back plugs.

The board would be rediculously loose if that was the case.

As for the board, i would say grab it, looks like it would be super fun.
