i was wondering what that was all about. pretty scary. i hope for the best. i remember 10 years ago a boy drifted from manasquan all the way up to belmar i believe it was. they found him hours later, but he was alright. i believe he turned up in belmar, but for some reason bradley beach sticks out as well. i think it was belmar though.

    Still searching this morning

Was out at 6 am this morning in Squan for surf and the Coast Guard Heli was going up and down and in and out of the inlet... we thought he was doing a training session with all the drastic maneuvers... pretty sad to hear of this! Always hope for the best!

This is rough. The ocean is so powerful. I know there were a numer of heavy rips in Avon. Prayers go out to the family.

i feel like nj beaches are more crowded this year than they have been. it could be contributed to the excessive heat or just 'jersey shore' blowing up. regardless, more people means more swimmers, which means the lifeguards will have a harder time.

life guards have a harder time??? All I have ever seen the lifeguards do at my beach is sit in the sun and tan themselves, flirt with the female lifeguards and take the paddleboard out 30 ft past the lineup and snake all the waves from surfers who just paid to get on the beach, all while on the clock.
