I just put a 6'1 robber on layaway. I'd like to hear from anybody who has one. Likes and dislikes. I need the size cause I'm 170 lb and 45 yrs. Thanks
I have to admit, I'm not a good paddle, but I'm a good surfer. I've been surfing for over 30 yrs. I'm not powerful or speedy , but I make fast snaping moves like we used to do in the late 80's
They look like they could be a lot of fun. Never rode one, but all the design elements seem functional. Easy paddler, can be surfed off the tail, plenty of width for smaller/weaker surf. Wonder what the rocker's like??? Most likely a little flatter in the entry.
my brother is about to get one so ill be surfing it as well but in a 5'11. however that board in that size isn't really thick and i would suggest to go a little bigger maybe 6'3 for a little more float to take into account your paddling. the width and thickness of the 6'1 is the same as my dumpter diver and i ride that at 5'7. but if you dont mind the possibility of lack of float go for the 6'1 and have fun with it
Funny u said that. This morning I called the shop to switch the 6'1 to a 6'3. I just felt the lack of float. What do u think abut such a pull in tail. I was thinking it might not work on jersey sucky mushy weak surf.
Bought a 6'3 from brave new world a few weeks ago and it has been a great addition. Have only had it in the knee to waist range since thats what NJ has been seeing but its an easy paddle and is a wave catching machine. You'll enjoy it no doubt.
as far at the tail i think you would be fine.i think the board will give you a really loose but also stable feeling on the board. i think you have many options on that board too you can do the twin finner, tri fin, and twin fin so honestly i would not worry too much about the pulled in tail. you will def have a good time on that board. do you usually ride a longboard or a big guy shortboard?
I'm avg build, for my age(45) I'm in very good cond. 5'10, 170 lbs. I started riding short boards back in the 80's. Than switched to longboards for about 20 yrs. And I rode progressive style, I started going smaller for the last 3 yrs, I've been through 5 boards in the 24 months, downsizing each time. Now I have a good setup of boards. Sold the ones I don't use. When I saw the robber. I thought "now that looks like a great all around board"
