I used to own a Go-Pro Hero and about 2-weeks ago it decided to break:( , but anyways im planning on buying a new one.

Do you think the HD is worth the $260? or should i just go back with the $119 hero?

    Thanks!

    yup

ive lost 2 to the ocean. not my fault but still. definitely worth the upgrade and the photos are incredible along with the HD video. PS~IF ANYONE FINDS A GO PRO OR TWO IN THE OCEAN NEAR DONOVANS OR PIER VILLAGE, LET ME KNOW haha. keeping my hopes high to get that cam back

Damn, that is beat man. That is one of the reasons I haven't purchased one yet.. can't imagine buying that and then bam, it's gone.

I used to have a go-pro, but after 2 breaking I decided on another camera.

A very good option, that is waterproof without a case is the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW (they have newer models that are also nice). It is not to much more money, especially if you buy a used or older model like mine, newer ones will cost a bit more but also are improved as my father has one.

Since I dive a lot along with use it for surfing I bought the case that goes along with it and the case is excellent, even without it though the camera is waterproof you just have to watch out not to open a hatch without the case. There are also two different cases for the older models and newer models(since the new models have a slightly different shape)

Overall it shoots awesome videos and pictures and even out of the water is great and I have no issue with using it over my other non-water proof digital camera. They are drop resistant, heat and cold resistant and in total my family has 4. 1 has had problems, but that is because my parents didn't clean the salt off of it after use for a good year so it cost $50 to repair.

That depends on you. Did you really like the one you had? Did you use it a lot?
If you answer yes to both go for the HD.

If you used it a lot and you were getting some really cool/fun footage, then I think you would want the HD.
If it's just something to **** around with, then no it's probably not worth it.
