Quads VS Thrusters

have you tried the alternator firewire thruster. i think its awesome and fast.

looking for advice on a quad from someone who's ridden them--is there really a disadvantage in waves over hd high?

tried the Stretch f-4?

I have a stretch f-4 its a fast fun board. Good summer board. I rode it this last swell because my main thruster was getting repaired and found it to perform better than I expected in some racing tubes. One of my buddies throws in a full size trailer fin in the back of his quads to hold through turns better on big waves.

I got a 5'10 stretch quad.. i think its the fletcher model, but i got it used so im not sure.. i have only riden it since i got it love how quick it is, and its much easyer to blow the tail out on. but i still got my 6'4 for when its big and juicey

 

Has anyone surfed Rusty's Dwart yet, or any double wing round tail Quad. ?

 

Before I bought the quadraflex I tried an alternator. Great board but quad is better for MB surf. My guess is quads are too loose for big waves

 

not true.. a lot of guys ride quads with their guns.. they want speed not turns

 

Quads and twins are THE fastest boards you can ride. I rode twins in the early 80's, tri's in the late 80's, quads in the early 90's followed by tri's untill 4 years ago when I went back to the quad. I had a custom Epoxy Pro (closed cell epoxy) Joe Blair quad - double bump soft squash tail which still looks brand new. This board excellerates out of bottom turns (flex is unbelievable) & is quick off the top. The only draw back I have found w/ quads & twins is they do not seem to excellerate through cut backs but that might be due to my surfing style. P.S. I bought a Tim Nolte fish & rode it as a tri fin for 6 months before I pulled the back fin out at which time it rode twice as fast as a twin.

 

for sure he does! i quit riding everything else and have the two customs. one is a mix between roberts white diamond and dumpster diver and the other is the same shape as a lost motivator. both are five fins, and have the best glassing ive had on any board so far. he has my buisness from here on out. check him out guys 400 bucks for a custom shotboard and 500 for a longboard. let me know if intrested.
