Hurricane Earl My first post: (soon to be) Hurricane Earl could brush the mid-atlantic coastline or come very close to brushing us. http://raleighwx.easternuswx.com/models/atcf/00zatcfearlyinvest2best.gif That link shows you a variety of models and their track for Earl. Most of them have Earl brush the coastline. http://moe.met.fsu.edu/tcgengifs/gfs/2010082818/slp26.png That is the most known and used model in the US and it shows a monster 75 miles off the coast line and it drops 3" of rain along the coast. http://icons-pe.wunderground.com/data/images/at201007_model.gif Some other models curve Earl out to sea before it gets near us and we'll see if the NHC agrees with that at 11pm. If Earl gets close to us, it will create 14-22ft waves along the oceanside of Delaware, closing Rehoboth Beach and the roads in town, which i actually experienced before from a nor'easter, except this time it could be a major hurricane.
