In case you were wondering where the swell came from today... It was from the remnance of Danielle in the Central Atlantic waters - and not from Earl.

Looks like Danielle was pretty stationary for a little while out there, and sent some ENE waves to the Mid Atlantic and Northeast today.

Earl swell will start to fill in on Wednesday.

I meant Tuesday.... ENE swell snuck through the radar... It wasn't from Earl.

seems like these tropical swells are super fickle.

I swear that todays swell was the best of Danielle . Perfect long lefts all morning about waist to chest high with some head high sets.

    out of sunday in DE
    Monday in MD
    this evening in DE

This evening was easily the most solid swell...long lines..thick long period sets in the 3-5 foot range. ENE swell angle is right on...DE faces ENE and it was coming straight in ... the place i surfed was holding up both lefts and rights and not really closing out

sunday morning was firing at the right spots in oc. solid barrels. definitely best day of danielle in oc.

today was also solid fun, long lefts, a lot of beautiful barrels, offshore winds/glassy for morning, early afternoon and late afternoon.

I agree Sunday morning was clean and fun. Today was better as far as I am concerned, no work and 4 solid hours of uncrowded surf.

I agree with the Administrator. Had I check my swell direction I would have caught those great waves on those east facing beaches in the AM today. Those who did beat the crowd for sure.
