Tomorrow will probably barely be rideable plus the south winds= it will not be good. All day there were still solid chest high waves every so often but it was still straight out of the east. Finally the buoys start showing SSE swell and it's got south winds all over it and the sun is going down. Add the dropping tide and you figure we got skunked again. You really have to wonder why we still get excited about cane swells. They seem to rarely produce great surf. Give me a strong south swell from a cold front any day of the week over this garbage.

Some SE facing beaches that love long period groundswells were on fire today. I actually caught it with 3 guys out at lunch time, glassy, head high w/ some overhead sets firing!!! You need to know where to go & when!!

My beach faces southeast and there were some solid waves coming through. I was being on the conservative side regarding size. The fact is the waves were still mostly closing out even through dead high tide. Terrible swell angle for even more terrible sandbars. I was hoping Earl would fill in and the swell would shift out of the SSE and hit the bars at a much better angle. You werent surfing Earl swell today. The buoys just recently started showing SSE swell with much higher periods. Kudos to you finding a good setup for the ESE/E swell that was hitting today.
