haha yeah I know about most of the spots down at the south end, they're just SUPER crowded. I really like wooden jetty and holyoke, its just that they're both always packed
Dudes, you gotta deal with loads of people in every sport. I spend the entire winter waterfowl hunting the jersey coast and every year there are more and more people out there. Its just a fact of life. You either deal with it or move to Alaska or something. I can't tell you how many Benny's I've written thousands of dollars of fines too because they have money but no brains behind the wheel of their big boats. Its just a fact of life in Jersey, but you can't get pissed at everyone. I'm sure a lot of the surfers out are jersey folks on summer vacation or surfing for the day. I for one am still learning at this, so I stick to the small days, but I always give right of way to the guys who actually know what the hell they're doing. But I spend more time on the water than most, and in fact, I've pulled a lot of surfers out of trouble. So you can't make blanket statements about the folks in the water. GRANTED, there are a lot that need to go the hell home to NY.
So true So true....LBI is getting infested with New Yorkers and big ass houses its a shame. we have had a house there ever since I was born and I have just watched the madness happen. It's terrible
I know, I have been going to LBI every summer since I was a kid. I live about 30mins away now, but every summer I am there quite often. Its funny when you are a regular to a certain area of beach and week after week you always see new faces. I don't mind, as long as people are respectful to the beach, the water and the people. Thats mostly where I surf, because I've gotten to know the water very well, and since I still suck, I figure its the best place to stay out of the way of those who can surf.
haha you're right. the other day I saw a bunch of New Yorkers go by the lagoon on a 25-30 foot boat caled "brooklyn cruizin'". I'm surprised they didnt have chains hanging off the back
Thats the best time of year....For the record the Hudson House "Hud" is the best bar on the island...lots of locals. Our house is four blocks from the Famous "Nardi's"..I will never step foot in there again..Lst time so dude wanted to fight me because I guess I was eyeing up is busted ass 50 year old wife hahaha...and yes he was from New York
Hurricane Earl, LBI How were the waves today down at LBI? I heard the life gaurds weren't leting anybody go into the water today. Earl looks like its weakening, now its down to a 2. Friday might not be worth the drive cause of the wind. I'm probably going to the north end on saturday or sunday.
i was down at LBI, lifeguards let people in. however just about when the lifeguards were off duty the swell picked up and it was perfect
crowds Sorry not giving away my uncrowed spot at the north end. Last week their must of been about 15 guys out their. Thats the most people ive ever seen their. Just shows everybodys trying to chase the big swells.
Ny shoebies Worst thing about LBI is the rich shoebie New York people who are building million dollar houses.I wish all new york people would stay in new york they have beaches their. It seems like when your on 72 all New York people drive like idots. And it bugs me when your on the beach and all you see is yankees hats. I wish i would see more phillies hats. GO PHILLIES
I didnt see a single lifeguard on the north end, nor a single surfer. the only site of human life was at around 8 AM when I went up to check the waves and a group of guys went out to give it a try
