so my buddy's coming down to LBI this weekend with his Wave-Runner, and with the swell we have I couldn't help but think about towing in . I know it sounds ridiculous but I was just wondering if it would even be allowed. there are a few unguarded beaches up here in Loveladies, but are there any restrictions with the coast guard and such?
yes. you are correct. it sounds ridiculous. but by all means give it a go. and let some people know so they can get video.
Is it allowed? Drinking and driving is against the law, we know how that goes. Go for it. Your assured a good story no matter what happens.
Where are you? I live right outside LBI and was always looking for someone to use my ski with. I did it once at the south end. PM me.
There are no laws per say about jetski use near the beach, but there are laws that require you remain 200yrds from people in the water. If you're going to use it during a hurricane, there are no laws that I am aware of that you'd be breaking...other than being nuttier than a box of squirrel turds. If a LEO wants to be a prick, they could hit you with endangering life (your own of course).
just stay well away from any & all paddle-in surfers that may be in the water...besides the ski chopping the hell out of the waves they're going for, it would be really easy in large surf conditions to accidentally kill someone. the fewer people around, the better. i've always kinda wanted to try it, tho...good luck! let us know how it goes.
would be funny if we had the whole swellinfo gang for a tow-in sesh. we would be the talk of the weather channel! "rampant hooligans commandeer new jersey beaches with jet skis during extreme water conditions"
Tow In Last year during hurricane Bill there were some guys doing some tow-in off No Mans (island south of Martha's Vineyard).
