Now, on the other hand, Holden was Holdin' ! A soft playful left off of the pier that had every bit of a 7 foot face and was offering rides anywhere from 100-150 meters. I havent seen a wave peel like that on the east coast outside of OBX...ever. Whoever said it was better than OBX obviously didnt see s-turns from wednesday the 1st though or anywhere in hatteras last week. You just cant beat that power!.... but yea... Holden,The 50 year old locals were all over it and i was so tired from Hatty i could barely fight the current, much less jockey for position. Def got some fun ones though. But swells like this really prove how many people in the water need a crash course on surf etiquette. I cant tell you how many times i saw 3-5 guys all take off on the same set(or try to). Some right next to each other and then others further down the line. A fight almost broke out and the crowd thinned next to the pier. Thank God. Cam Richards said the hell with that and paddled out 300 meters north of the pier and was ripping. He hooked into a nice barrel off the peak for a couple seconds(got gobbled up) and all the old guys were "oohing and aahing" and were like "who is that?" and one guy informed them that it was Cam. Like theyve never seen someone get pitted before. Considering that those guys were frothing over a mushy left off the pier that couldnt drill you to the bottom even with a cat 3 hurricane swell, i would say they have probably never been pitted either. But hey.. GO CAM! it was fun watching you go bananas. If I werent so beat i woulda paddled right out with you on that much BETTER, EMPTY a-frame peak, but i had to go for the easier paddle out on the rip from the pier cuz my ass was tiiiiiired but a solid end to a week of surfing danielle and earl! so stoked. cmon Fiona!!! and then the hell with the right coast, Im movin' to Hawaii suckaaas

You do realize that when you say things like that it just intensifies a person's curiosity and belief that your spot will be firing?? The best thing to do to protect YOUR spot from crowds (because you own it right?) is to just keep your mouth shut

First off....there were no "50 year old locals" there was one guy there that was maybe 50 and he was NOT a local. And secondly, we all here know who Cam is. If you know what the crap you are talking about, Cam did NOT paddle 300 meters north of the pier. Cause if he did, he would have been in the parking lot.....litterly. HB face due south. Whoever was "ohhing and ahhhing" were not HB locals. I know cause I was in the lineup and we are all know him and his dad well. Yes Cam can surf well....but who you saw that were amazed where not from HB. The heavy hitters at HB can surf as well as Cam and were were not at all impressed. Just another good surfer in the water...thats all.

I got some great waves yesterday at Holden, the most juice i've been in since Costa. I did find that most of the surfers were a little intimidated by the size and backed off a lot of waves leaving me to clean up their mess, and thankfully so!!! Thanks Earl, I got skunked by that c*nt danielle.

While I've ragged on SurfHB and Holden Beach in the past about it only breaking there about 4 times a year (and let's face it, 4 times is being generous), when it is on, he and a select few down there will get theirs. They surf every bit as good (if not better) as u and your stoner st. loafer bruddhas do....

haha. excuse me. i meant 35-60 year old locals with stink eye cuz they suck and who the hell says he paddled east of the pier. how about he paddled east northeast. is that better? do u understand now? LITTERLY???? litter is trash. what you meant was LITERALLY. i wasnt being LITERAL when i said north. go back to school and pay attention to the language you speak and write so you wont be so pathetic. please forgive me though and thank you for correcting me because i had no idea the beach facing direction of holden was south which is why i had no idea it would have a wave given the swell and wind direction thursday. and yes im sure you feel special buying t-shirts from village. Oh oh and "were not at all impressed" who would say that? you sound a little smug, Maybe you should watch him and you wont surf like the HEAVY HITTERS that were just cruisin' in the pocket with their hands in the air

    Put up some pics here...

Who cares about who did what or who surfed where. Everyone had a great time that got it whether they were in the pit or down the line. It was a good day for surfers and south facing beaches. Glad I got to surf it and take pics of it. Spent my whole day at Holden both at the bridge in the morning and by the pier in the afternoon. Surfed both and had a great time.
