caught this from a few friends that were there, but evidently, there was a LARGE shark lurking the line-up off the inlet jetty in oc,md yesterday morning. it was big enough that most were scared out of the water for a while.anybody else on here there? get a good look at it,or know what species. my friend said it was lurkin just off his buddies board, but not close enough to see what kind. man,i hope this isn't gonna be a regular thing here......

I have heard reports of bullsharks swimming around there quite a few times.

Malibu's posted it on their surf report a day or 2 ago. So either word got to them or one of the guys that work there saw it himself and posted it. I'd imagine it'd have to pretty close to legit for them to put it on their site. Them being a business that depends on people being in the water, I wouldn't imagine they'd want to scare anyone unless it came from a reputable source and just reminding their customers to be safe out there.

7 to 8. Large enoungh to warrent an exit by all at that time. Very reliable source. Not the first time thishas happened but the size was a big concern for all those there. Nothing more freaky then when you kick the side of "somehing" in the water with the width of a small drum/barrel the the thing barely moves. If we only knew what and how close we surf to all sorts of sea life........

    I heard

. . . that sharks really like to floss with sponges after a hearty meal.

yeah xgen, got this tidbit from a very reliable source who was there. in fact,my friend said he was the only one to stay in the water after it was sighted.creepy though,it lurked right off his friends board for a good bit....

Haha those are the best, you get all sorts of numb and a second feels like an hour.

Try being in the water with great whites :-X
