I saw that also. I think the winds will play a factor on the ridability. Need some s/w winds offshore or real light onshores if possible. I was at the KDH area saturday afternoon (avatar photo) and sunday morning after Earl. I noticed alot of diffrences in spots less than five miles apart! Alot of honey holes!

It was nice Sunday morning until the wind switched out of the east at 10:30 am.

The weather channel wind forcast is more favorable. Actually looking pretty good but still way early. Things will change many times.

Obx is forecasted for s/w offshore winds on thursday and friday, 10-15 or 20-25 knots. Looks like you asked for good days off! I am planning to be in Corolla on Sunday-Sunday but may head that way earlier..... Before the weather channel goons come in and screw it up and cause all of these evacuations...jeez

Mule.. ever tried John's Drive inn, beach road near Black Pelican/Lillian Street in Kitty Hawk? Fried local maui (dolphin) sandwich...wahoo sandwich.....oooh man! Rundown Cafe?

JOhns Drive in lunch is awesome, but the shakes, oh man so good, tryone of their milk shakes, gurantted to fill you up then clean you out. Takste so good for desert after a sandwhich and some tasty waves all morning. Tourtugas is the sopt though, one of my favorite places to eat in the world.

    Johns OBX

One of our fav places. Love the dolphin boat and my son gets vanilla milkshake and french fries. Is it crazy they close at 6 pm and even earlier this season. We have called in many times this summer and they are to busy to take our call in orders. I think they just sell out from being so busy.

Alot of differences in the sandbar depths at the PBAs! I like it that way!

Frisco looks to have offshore winds, overhead and scary all the way thru Monday!

Do you Va Beach guys stay the night when going to the obx or drive back? Some decent oceanfront hotels in KDH, Nags Head that I have stayed are Colony lV, Surfside Motel, Nags Head Inn, Bestwesern Ocean reef.

Keep posting those good local flare obx eating spots! I will check out tortugas, seems kind of like the Rundown Cafe except maybe better. John's Drive Inn is only open from 11-4until Sept 26. Good fresh seafood market - Billys Seafood Collington Harbour; fresh, local, best prices 252-441-5978. Bob's "Eat and get the hell out"?, Gritts Grill? Henry's?

day trip or either the campground behind the hess in rodanthe or frisco woods campground if its a 2 day affair. Whoever made the shout-out to tortugas was on the money, but you better forget about showing up at 7pm for dinner peak season. Their deserts are actually made by a little old lady, and are killer.

Raodanthe for dawn patrol then up to KDH where the wind should be more stable later on. Would love to just stay on Pea Island though!

i assume you were talking to me, so, in order,

no not tent camping, squatting. All of those zillion dollar beach houses just vacated for the season. ****

the bugs will eat your brains through your ears and nose. Seriously.

    now.

    cool.

Please, there are alot of varied spots for everyone on the obx.

I go there enough, respect the people and spend a little money.
