I'm going to get a small wave board in the next week or so, and wanted to get some advice on the CI biscuit and fishcuit. I know there has been threads on here before about this, but just seeing if anyone has some new info. I was wondering which is a better board in small surf from knee to chest, and any other pros or cons for each board? Also, Im considering getting a kechelle ufo board as well to add to my quiver, pending on feedback, but I wanted to get some info first. I would like ro purchase 2 of these 3 boards at some point. Thanks guys
Check with a local shaper. I'm sure there are a couple guys on here that could point you in the right direction to someone who can give you the same style board, tailored to the waves your surfing.
yeah, for real. Tell Tim Nolte that you want a biscuit and boom, $400. Walk into a shop and actually buy the pop out CI board and boom $750. The pros ride them because they are free. Just saying.... local shapers do just as good work, support them.
CI boards are excellent. Definately talk with some of the local shapers to get exactly wha style you want. I find the fish to be the best choice for east coast waves. It stays in the lip better on smaller ankle biters up to head high. The biscuit is more of a fun board. Everyone I talk to that doesnt have a fish wishes they did.
I rode a friends fishcuit for a couple session this summer and it instantly became my favorite small wave board. I went to a local shaper and he is making me up one as we speak...I've never ridden the biscuit so I can't compare the two, but whatever you want, just bring your ideas to a local shaper and they will hook you up with something tailored for you
Do any of you guys know a good shop in jersey where they sell kechele boards? I'm interested in the ufo model, but only brave in point and wavejammer in lavalette had boards, but only in one size. I want to go to a shop that has different sizes, so I can take a look. I have checked like 20 shops already either by stopping in, phone, or their website, but no go. I want to take a look at these boards in person because I want to look at sizes and buy one or get ideas for a local shaper. Thanks guys
Your not going to find too many Matt Kechele boards around here. He is based out of FL. Sick boards tho man...I highly recommend one.
Surf Shack, LBI Go to the Surf Shack in LBI New Jersey. Their two main board brands are Cannibal and Kechele. Both great boards shaped in FL and shaped for east coast surf. The Surf Shack has about 300 boards and everyone their is always helpful. Also in the winter/early spring they have really good sales on boards.
