Hopefully there will be some waves for this contest. Last year was great.

How did the contest go this year? Was it well-attended by surfers and spectators? I really wanted to go, but had to be home in DC that weekend. I did pick up the t-shirt, though, when I was in Avalon over Labor Day.

Thanks, Matt. I've always been impressed with the folks who put on and support this event for the small convent that can very much use the help.

I grew up in Avalon and surfed as a kid. I got back into the sport a few years ago as a middle-aged dad, and it's tremendously gratifying to see how the local surf community gives back to the island and surrounding communities through the Nun's Beach contest, the Brendan Borek Surf Memorial, etc. Sets a great example for my four young kids that I'm just now introducing to the sport. So, thanks to you and the rest of the Nun's Beach contestants and supporters. You guys do us proud.
