looking around to see if anyone has a 9in fin that i can buy off of them. I don't feel like spending $60 for a new one at a shop. Thanks

it's going on a 9'0. don't know much about the board other than it's a fiberglass ron jon. it currently has a 2+1 set up and i'm thinking that going to a large single fin would help catch more waves....bad idea?

IMO, Changing your fin setup isn't going to do anything for you as far as catching waves; that's all on you.
Sure, sure the extra side bites may add some drag, but I assure you it is pretty minimal when talking about catching waves.
The only thing it's really going to effect is how it surfs once you've caught the wave. Then, I'm all for a big single fin on a longboard. :)

I tend to find that anything smaller than a 9.5 when used as a single fin donest really perform well. You'll find that sometimes the fin will actually " pop out " of the wave or it will get really squirrly. I would try to look for a 10 inch fin if possible ebay has lots of fins at great prices
