Just looking to solicit some general advice. While I would typically tackle my own ding repair, I recently broke the fin box and believe this repair is beyond my expertise. As such I was wondering if own of the LBIers out there had any ding repair feedback for some of the local island shops?? Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to ron jons....haha...I have one or two shops in mind. I just was wondering if my expectations of good shops are in line with what some of the shops others guys have used. Any takers?
did the fin box just pop out? It really depends on the amount and type of damage. Is it poly or epoxy? Because all they are going to do is fill the voids and set it back in with poly/epoxy and filler. If there is a general idea left in the board of here to set it back in then I would give it a go yourself.
Thanks for the info. Ric do you freelance or if not what shop? It's not a fin box per se it's one of those new peanut shaped fin plugs, but yes it's cracked all the way and needs to be replaced. Just feel it's beyond my ability.
surfrr, I'm not Ric; send an email to the link and you can get in touch with him. I think Ric used to do the repairs for Farias...
