paddle battling and mugging peoples' spot is in many cases almost worse than dropping in on someone. People who do that crap - who aren't known to me - become non-entities to me for the rest of the session. I'll set up right on top of you, and if you paddle down to another peak, I'll follow you. Sometimes I'll even overlook a nice wave I'm in perfect position for - just to be able to burn you on the next one that you're going for.

Aside from the concussion that I endured, which I think is starting to wear off, I cant open my jaw fully. So I have to mush up all my food. I had to stuff a banana in my mouth today between my teeth. Anybody have this kind of experience?

PS I really hope I dont see this guy again

nothing will scatter a crowd like a shark. Pay a friend to put on a shark fin and a snorkel and circle the spot a few times. Empty barrels and everyone will think you are king Leonidas.

We do that all the time int he summer if there are alot of swimmers. One of will act all concerned and say things like 'Did you see that fin?" just loud enough for people to hear. it usually clears them out.

When you are surfing your local break on a great day & the crowd is thick especially with nonlocals & semi locals and they drop in on you (KNOWINGLY)....... there is only one thing to do (especially if it's the 1st thing in the morning & all eyes are watching). Pull out of the wave wherever he decides to & begin a tongue lashing that lasts a few minutes. Continue to ride he ass like it is a contest & you have priority untill he has had enough. I have been dropped in on during epic swells after they look at you coming down the line. Then they tell you they didn't see you! No excuses, so therefore no mercy!!!! I give so much respect to locals when I surf their breaks. Locals have a right to their peak especially if it is extremely crowded & fun. Enough said!!!!
