Ok....I love America & I'm a patriot & that means I question authority just as our ancestors did....y'all know that 'the system' is busted....i.e., health care is a joke, the political system is a crock, everyone's out for every buck they can take down at everyone else's expense, et. al. ad nauseum....still & all, nowhere better on this planet than here. Having said that...

So.......let's lose the marketing hype....WHAT REALLY WORKS?

Here's a couple things that I've discovered over 5 decades, in no particular order, are Always The Real Deal:

    1. Quality handcrafted surfboards.
    2. Quality handcrafted wetsuits along with 5 mil booties in January on the east coast.
    3. Toyota products: screw the media frenzy, I've owned a Landcruiser, a Sequoia & an FJ & these things work off-road (Assateague, Central America, the DR) as well as on-road.
    4. Hand made wool clothing & blankets.
    5. Wolverine boots.
    6. Springfield Armory XD45 pistols.
    7. My left jab, straight right, lol.
    8. True & great friends.
    9. Dogfish Head Ales
    10. Telling the truth no matter what.
    11. Cash.
    12. Non-stop international flights in first class.
    13. Ferraris.
    14. A woman who has multiple deep orgasms with you. And then cooks you breakfast. And then cooks you dinner.
    15. Perseids meteor shower, up close.
    16. Surviving death.
    17. The northern lights, up close.
    18. The laughter of your nephew or niece or son or daughter.
    19. The supreme best friend aka a dog.
    20. Good health.

    What are your 20....?
    :)

Posted by yankee on November 8:

This is my first go-round with surfing east coast early spring & late into the autumn. In years past usually went to DR or Nica or Barbados during Nov - May months. So, as odd as it sounds, haven't had need for wetsuit before this.

This is going to sound rookie dumbass, but then again I am a rookie dumbass when it comes to wetsuits: do most guys wear rash guards underneath the wetsuit ...? It's pretty tight on my shoulders & arms now with nada underneath.

    :confused::confused::confused:

Gotta disagree partially. My 2000 Camry is the biggest piece of junk I have ever dealt with. No words can express how much I loathe this car. Every day I wake up and wonder if it's going to start, and yes I do have a good battery. Horrible, horrible piece of machinery. Definitely did not live up to Toyota quality.

My 99 4runner however, so far has! Too bad I don't drive it too often because the parents will charge me for gas. I love taking that thing to the beach
