Be careful out there

    Be sure you know what you're getting yourself into the next couple of days in the water. Yes, we're all stoked it's going to be big, but just remember that the ocean doesn't have the capacity to love you back.

    Have fun, but make good choices and live to surf another day.

    I just saw the news and there was a pack of surfers paddling out at the oci today around 7

    Looked pretty big when i checked it uptown earlier, really windy.

    yeah i saw that too... it was just a short little clip that was on WBOC, just 3 guys paddling out, thats all it showed, they were getting tossed around like crazy

    All I saw

    Was two spongers skimming on the streets of downtown. I'd hate to see them do a face plant on the asphalt. The other question is, what were they paddling out to? Was there even a definable peak to drop in on.

    If there was a ridable wave anywhere it would have been on the north end of Assateague accessible by paddling across the inlet. It's the only reasonably protected area from a NE wind. And it's not a secret spot, it's just somewhat inconvenient to access.
