I was checking out the JS blak box and the kingpin. Any one ever ridden either of theses boards? any info would be helpful. thanks
Had a JS board like 5 years ago. It was a really good board. Very solid design. It was really high performance. Quite a few of the local pros I know ride for JS. So, I see guys ripping on those boards still today. I went a different direction with my shaper and plus one, but 5 years ago, their shortboards were very legit. hope that helps.
I just got a JS Nitro for Christmas. Haven't taken it out yet, but it looks solid. For the most part, you can expect the obvious when you buy a JS or some other big name brand surfboard. Those big board companies have their designs so dialed in that you can be pretty confident that you're getting a solid board if you know what you're after.
JS summer board I've heard from users the blak box is great for east coast summer waves .. lots of foam. Atypical for JS designs (and new to them). Aussie boards tend to be shaped for better waves than normally found on the EC except for really good days. I like their glassing better than Cali boards (especially Simon Anderson) I have a Simon Anderson and JS (both 6'6"x 19.25) but the JS has thinner rails and is somewhat faster. Great board for Good waves. I ordered another JS to be in any day now, a CV8 for summer. They used to be hard to get but now have a shaping machine in San Diego for manufacturing in Cali and closer delivery. My first one took about 6 or 8 months to get. 2 thumbs up!
Thanks for the feedback guys. and waterboy the cv8 looks like pretty sick board. the bottom on it is pretty interesting, let me know how that rides.
