The wife and I are headed to Costa in Feb and we're flying American... This means a 50lb max for our two boards and bag combined. I'm looking at the Pro-lite rhino bag in a 9'6" to hold our two longboards. Does anybody have any experience with this bag? What's it weigh, how does it do protecting your board, etc.

    Thanks for your feedback.

The American Airlines surfboard policy seems to be very fluid -- I would print out the baggage page with the date stamp for the day you purchase your ticket and take it with you on your trip. Right now it reads 1 surfboard NTE ~120 inches (10 foot) and 70 lbs. Alternatively, you can put more than one board in a bad if they are lightweight and the bag & boards weigh 50 lbs or less. In other words, don't stress out the baggage handlers and space.

Three potato chip boards in a bag will work, but I wouldn't push it with two logs in a bag, or risk paying extra fees.
