go to contests and concerts. bands are always eager to giveaway stickers and theres always contest promoters givin away stuff too. gas stations give stickers too sometimes. sometimes you can earn them. i got a sticker from mountain creek for reciting the gettysburg address. **** peyton manning

send SASE to any company in the industry and ask for stickers. They will probably send you tons depending on the size of the envelope.

I remember 10 years ago I used to mail back things that were in magazines, and I would get free stickers......mainly from snowboarding magazines and from brands like Scott, Rossignol, Never Summer........
Nowadays I dont put brands all over my gear unless they are going to sponsor me, or if its a local product, I always support the local, grassroot products.

How do ya'll feel about the stickers on the board for the non sponsored surfer? I tend to think it makes dudes look like goons...all surf stickered up... riding waves going straight... or maybe that's just cause I'm a goon.

Unless your sponsered - stickers have only one real use - patch dings until you can get them repaired. Don't advertise for a company that could give a rats a$$ about you.

    want free stickers?

    1. get good
    2. win some contests
    3. get sponsored.

but totally agree with smithfield and recycled surfer... your just going to look like a kook if your all stickered up and your not the hottest thing on the peak. I guess your like 14 and thats the cool thing to do. Dont worry, you will grow out of it. Surf for yourself, stop trying to look cool. Just saying...

stickers don't go on boards unless you have some affiliation w/ that company...sponsored by, work for, etc...i think most groms tend to go thru a stage where they want to sticker up their board. i sure did, & so did all the kids i surfed w/ at that time. it's pretty much harmless, but older surfers who do it are kooks.

i've been meaning to make Swellinfo stickers for a while, but they can actually quite expensive. For big companies, its pretty easy for them to just give them away. But, for small guys, its not that cheap!

But, I do want to get some Swellinfo stickers.

I HATE it when people have stickers on their boards that aren't sponsored, It's one of my pet peeves. And what Lee said, if you have a giant quiksilver sticker on the front of your board i'm expecting something. That being said, when i was 12 i bought a surfboard off this local kid sponsored by oakley O'neill and vans and i left them on there for about a month because i thought i was badass, but then i grew up.

lol i could care less if people have stickers on their board but if its obvious by your surfing that youre not sponsored then you just look like a wannabe

related: i think its ugly as hell when people put stickers all over their cars. it also makes it more likely to get pulled over because of stereotypes

who cares...if a dude likes a certain company and wants to support them then why not rep their logo on your board, car, whatever? it has nothing to do with being a poser, if you buy quiksilver wetsuits and like the company and want to rock a quiksilver sticker on the board then go for it. what someones board looks like has nothing to do with how they surf

I have Woody's Stickers on my Boards and on my car I got a cpl stickers too ( Bing, Legend, Woodys & volcome) I really dont see what the big deal is if someone has them on there board or ride weather they ride for them of not. If some guy out in the line up has a **** load of stickers on there board big deal it dont affect how my session . It actually points out who to stay away from like most said that they dont know how to surf and it sorta is like a public service anouncement to stay away from that dude
