So my dad is going to Miami for some bussiness stuff and he said i can go with if i wanted, is the surf really that worth it to go down. Or would it be just a waste of my time. I am trying to surf here.

It can get good. Any photos i have seen are usually of peaky waves with a few barrels. I think they get something called a "refraction" swell down there. I'm not familiar with the dynamics of how/when it occurs though.

I believe the problem with Miami is it's so South that it is blocked by all the outer islands. I think it's not often they see swell.

Yeah its pretty amazing. Last year i went down to the Miami / Lauderdale area for work, and the entire week was ankle high. Every day after work, i drove an hour north to the Lake Worth area and it was chest high. Scored really fun waves while Miami looked like a pond.

having family down there, I can tell you that there are no waves in Miami unless a hurricane is present.

Bring a fishing pole and catch tons of fish also bring snorkel gear.
