Thinking about dropping some cash on a Christenson C-Hawk. Has anyone ridden one? If so, what do u think? What kind of surf is it good in? How does it handle? Thanks
this may or may not be much help, but.. I have ridden one of Chris's boards and it was one of, if not the most amazing boards I have ever ridden. I actually lived in my car behind his workshop (the one in the video) for about two months this past October and November. He is a really cool guy who knows his stuff. Each night before going to bed, I'd walk through Moonlight Glassing (which is next door to Chris) and occasionally there would be one or two CC's in there waiting for some superior pinlines from Peter St. Pierre (one of the Moonlight founders). I'd always check out his boards (mainly in there were his Guns or Logs) and wish for a day I could own each of them.
Christenson is one of THEE top shapers in the States, if not the world....his fishes are legendary. The only other fish shapers in the world that can compare would be Lis, Pavel, Frye and Mandala. You can't go wrong with his boards....a bit on the spendy side, tho. Maybe I'm wrong, but his boards may be collectors items in time....just like Lis, Frye and Pavel.
