i've been alternating needlepoint & abusing farm animals. gotta mix it up to keep yourself entertained during these dark times.
ha you aint kidding. aint it the truth? this is by far definitely the absolute worst january that i have lived down the shore. absolutely the worst, i think people often times get on here, and complain about how this is the worst year ever, and this is the worst fall, and worst winter blah blah blah, but i have to agree on this one. last january was a lot more eventful. i don't remember it being the best, but it sure beat this garbage. i think i've surfed once this month so far, and it was a very nasty mediocre barely rideable 1 foot longboard day. january is never this bad at least not for this long. this is more like what you see in the spring, and early summer. actually i think i surfed more in april/may last year than this month. i know it's only halfway over, but still it doesn't look too promising. now is the time i wish i was living in ormond beach or jacksonville like i had planned to a few years ago. it's actually looking rideable every day this week there on the report! even if it's only 1-2 feet. come to think of it though we did have a big dry spell last winter too. that was in february though i think?
in the winter i keep a log on the conditions and stuff and last january we had waves new years day which was really fun, and then it went completely flat until martin luther king day, on the 18th. and then we had a few days at the end of the month. so both years it has sucked but this is ridiculous. there is more swell in the gulf than we hav here. hopefuly it will pick up.
It looks like here in ocmd were getting a nice windwell next week, around tuesday... but really i wont be there so there better be some sort of swell next weekend when i can actually make it
positive vs negative so i like your thinking. perhaps we will get a massive storm that will undo the beach replenishment mess that ruined the good sand bars. here is to excellent epic surf on the east coast! i know, who wants to organize a gypsy road trip to follow surf? guess i will get it started. lets go!
Sand is being pumped in Bethany Beach as we speak...they are currently working near the south end of the boardwalk heading N
Really???? hopefully they wont do that with Indian River Inlet, or else the only surf spot i know of will be assateague..
