Okay so all of you know I am a loyal Hyperflex user but after looking in the line up I see Xcel more previlent. I am gonna pay off one of my boards I got on hold at Woodys early so I will have some extra money in my tax return that I can use to get some new rubber. I am not looking to replace what I got already I just wanna have a spare winter setup for them days where you can get 2 sessions in.

With that being said I am wondering on the 5/4/3 drylock with the 7mil drylock boots and mits.

How do these hold up ?? I hear conflicting things about there drylock boots and glove to be not all that great.

    Any feedback for be rad

Personal oppinion, Xcel makes great suits. but theyre gloves aren't very durable, at least not after a few months, so i got some quicksilvs to replace them

then again i had the 5 fingers. the mits are probably better.

    The boots seem fine

I love my 5/4 infinit drylock its a great wintersuit and is as warm as can be. The wetsuit is nice and comfortable when your in it. The boots are good too but word to the wise about the gloves. Alot of my friends have them but dnt like them. They complain about them tearing. I noticed that if you keep folding them inside out they will but ive seen it happen with rip curl and o'neil. Mine are 2 years old now and perfectly fine(lobster claw). I would defintily recomend the drylock. I have a 5/4, 4/3 and 3/2 drylock and all r great wetsuits

    Agree with conspiracyrider.

My 5/4/3 Xcel drylock is solid after two years of heavy use, and warm as %^*@

Xcel booties are warm and last forever. I use the 5 mm split toe all winter.

Xcel drylock gloves are warm but mine havent held up that well now in second winter i have had to goop up a couple tears.

gee, the wizard pic is cool, but wasn't a nude pic of mila kunis. drat.

back on topic, i just got a pair of 5mm 5 finger drylocks and used them for a coupla hours today and they worked fine. am replacing a pair of o'neills that i have had to make a lot of repairs on. as for longevity, i will let you know at the end of the season.

the seal is pretty tight, so i had to go up a size so my wrists would not get squeezed.

I have an xcel 5/4/3 that I bought from my buddy for $50, greatest deal ever....I love it.....I also use o'neill heat 7mil boots and the xcel five finger.......no complaints with that setup. I actually just got a new xcel 3/2 xzip the other day , I'm a big fan of their suits.....I have yet to try out a hyperflex...I hear nothing but great reviews on them.

yeah I hear the drylock mits were great and that the 5 fingers ripped at the bottom of the palms. Which is fine by me i cant wear 5 finger gloves it feels weird to me like my hands are all swollen.

I dont have any issues with my 5/4/3 flow its going on its 3rd winter now . I just am gonna have a extra bit of cash and would like to get a drylock set up .

How are these suits getting in and out of?? are they harder than a normal front zip suit?

They have a criss-cross style on the neck panels that stretch out, so getting in is pretty easy, a little squirming is necessary, pull over hood with a minimal front zip.......my arms and legs never let water in, only when im under when it comes through the hood......you'll stay warm
keep your eyes open for sales.............eastern lines just had a 40% off everything. Unless you did crazy research for better prices, they had some decent deals.

In my third season with Xcel mittons, best gloves I've ever had. No sign of wear, no leaks, and really warm. Used to use rip curl and Oneil, claws and 5 fingers, none held up like these. Maybe I got lucky since others have had problems?

As for their suits, I have no idea. But like you, I love my Hyperflex. It's starting to show some signs of wear (3rd season), and I'm fairly certain I'll get another. This time the Flow, because I think todays Flow may be identical to my 3 year old Amp. Great suit for the money.

Don't want to stray from topic, but there really is nothing bad to say about the xcel wetsuits.

However, Matt I am looking to buy a Hyperflex AMP or AMP K towards the end of the winter season. The amp K is supposedly a "wind sport" wetsuit but I wonder if that means that the AMP would be better in the water? What is your input?

I cant really speak for the the Amp K cause i dont know what the differnece would be between that and the normal Amp.

Best bet to call Hyperflex and ask them they are in Millville, NJ you can get there number off there website

i have xcel 5/4 drylock. i live in ocean city maryland and have been warm and almost overheated every time i have used it in the winter. i have 7 mil xcel boots that are great. However i ahve the 7 mil xcel mittens and they are really warm but the grip is really ****ty on the palms. I have never had a problem with them slipping but they seem wierdly slick for something that should be grippy

sweet yeah in the winter I put a light coat of wax on the rails for extra grip . Not a whole lot just a pass or two

I never had a full mitten I have used claws mostly so It gonna be nice try something differnet .

Yeah it will all cost way more than my hyperflex stuff but from what I hear it worth it

I was dedicated purchaser of Rip Curl most of my life but bought an Xcel drylock and will never go back. Granted its a 4/3 cuz I'm not from Jersey but hands down the best suit I have ever owned (O yeah I have had Hurley & billabong suits as well). Warmth & flexibility. Can't speak for the gloves. Too bad I don't get to wear it anymore................................

Not sure about the suits but I have a pair of the 7mil boots and they are the warmest I've ever owned. They're a b**ch to get off though.
