i was planning on going down to playa hermosa in july for a week or two. Just wondering what the waves are like that time of year cuz alot of the websites arent very clear. Are their any other central america locations that are better than hermosa?

Yeah I stopped by Hermosa around then, its decent glassy in the morning but usually onshore by midday. Can get pretty big there too. There some great spots near by including Boca Barranca, a left almost as the long as Pavones that usually doesnt get super crowded. But if i were you I would go to like Nicaragua, I think its offshore there all day (but i could have had a bad source). Up north in Guanacaste is also fun, if you know where to go that is. (not tamarindo)

Start training now. Rainy season in Central America is BIG and Hermosa is super heavy.

You will score. If you are there for 2 weeks you will probably get 2 to 3 swell energy cycles. It is crowded but you can find spots that aren't as bad as others. Hermosa barrels and will thump you pretty good.
Nica is good too. Water not as warm as CR.
Depending on where you stay it can be cheap or $$$.
    Have fun.
