hey, i have been out of the water since end november and got a 4/3 m suit. despite ankle high waves i went in to start training. i was very warm with the suit but found my boots and gloves weren't as effective. it felt good to be in the water and muscles back in action. but i couldn't help wondering as i cursed wearing a wetsuit/hood-is this how a p....s feels? it just doesn't feel normal with all that rubber on.
as for baby wipes, i have been using them for years. in fact have thought of marketing them over tp.
    happy surfing

Its good to hear chicks use baby wipes ... id never wanna go down on a chick and have the bum region stank and gross ... not to say I go down "that way" but as we all know the two areas are incredibly close to one another ... here's a quote from the flick Forgetting Sarah Marshall, "if god was a city planner he would not put a playground next to a sewage system."

After a cpl time the rubber dont feel that bad you will get use to it in time. As for the boots and gloves I dont know what thickness or brand u got but they might not be right for the water temps

I have 7mil boots and they are great. Wore 5 mil boots for years and when I almost lost a toe this year I went thicker  . Enjoy wearing the rubber for what it is, you will get so used to wearing it when you finally take it off in the summer you feel so light and strong. It's like dropping 20lbs over night.

4/3 is cutting it close with the water temps....I made it through last winter with a 4/3, but I also had an oneill thermo under it.... as far as gloves and boots go.... i wear 5 mils for both but could easily go with 7 mils cause my hands and feet are very cold when i get out....

went out friday afternoon with the 70 degree air. i was ridiculously hot in a 5/4 with 5mm gloves and 7mm boots. can't say i was overheated saturday morning in the wind.

7mm boots are the way to go for winter. i do not know how easy they can be found in womens sizes. i put polar fleece socks on under mine. makes em easier to take on and off and provides some warmth and makes the boots snugger ( i have narrow feet).

on colder days i have been wearing a long sleeve rashie and lycra running tights beneath my suit. definitely adds some warmth without sacrificing weight and mobility. may be an idea for stretching the season with a 4/3.

i was plenty warm in the suit but on certain days i will need to layer. the boots/gloves will need to be replaced with 7m. i can fit in guys boots if they are small enough- gloves too. i think i would be ok in a suit its just the hood seems to restrict my vision. will look forward to the day i can go in h2o without all this stuff. like all last summer i couldnt figure out why all these people were out in wetsuits in the hot sun. guess some people feel more secure in them. one day i was surfing frisco pier in buxton and this guy yelled for help. his fin had carved him from the neck to spine. wetsuit saved him. pros/cons

Yeah when it's big and scary in the late summer / fall during solid hurricane surf I find myself reaching for my 3/2 . Since I'm kinda nervous already it feels good not to start shivering when a big set comes through. My son wears a suit almost evry day no matter what the water temps. He has zero fat on his body and gets cold really fast.

yaa im with you on ready to loose all the rubber!! but the best part is not having but 50 people out at first st when its head high!! FULL rubber and 40degree water/air temps = not all the idiots, 70 air and 39 water = quite a few idiots, 70+air and 70+water= every idiot in the world trying to catch a wave! !! ive made it all winter in a 4/3 e-bomb n i have 5mil xcel drylock 5 finger gloves and boots from vb to frisco but i had to go to 7mil f bomb mittens my finger tips kept going beyond numb! i must say they are the best investment ive ever made!!
