I have one, they're pretty cool to play around with. The mini is nice because it's 35mm, saving you the ridiculous cost of sending out 120mm to be developed. Definitely get the flash, the thing needs a ton of light.

how do you get the film developed? are there stores that will do it or will i have to ship it? and yeah i have heard that the flash is a necessity.

You can get the mini's 35mm film developed at a drug store or wal-mart. If you get one of the other cameras like the F+ you would have to send out the 120mm film.
