water temperature

In NJ that pretty much is it, about 40 give or take a couple degrees

 

last time i checked it was just below a boil. Like maybe a simmer....

i was wondering when will i be able to get away with wearing just a 3/2, boots, gloves, and hood

 

you can probably get away with a 3/2 in mid/late april with boots. yet i really can't decide what water temperature will be good for you to wear a 3.2...

I was warm as hell this weekend though in 5/4/3, even though it was 50 and sunny. i took my hood off a few times.

when its time for me to downgrade to 3/2 suits the hood has been gone for a while. After I shed my hood its usually still a couple of months in the 4/3 before i downgrade but thats just me. Alot depends on the air temp as well. If your jonesin for a surf and dont want to get away with buying a 4/3 this season you could possibly get away with a 3/2 when the water gets in the 50's if you have good gloves and boots and the air is warmer.

I was out his past Sat. and it was pretty chilly with the full 5/4 wetsuit. Lots of Tweens outs, lol and they could also prob agree...it was chilly with the wind chill. Nothing like Jan though.
