Yeah, I've seen that before. I think some people are just so stoked or lazy that they forget they can search the Forums or Google. Searching the Forums is getting more and more tedious though.

    *My Offended user impression*

Why is everyone hating? I thought that was the point of this site? Just because I don't live at the beach year-round doesn't make me a kook.

There's also the "local kook", like fat old guys who bring out the Buick logs twice a summer so their wives can take pictures as proof that they're "surfers".

..where do you guys get all of this hostility, all of this "i'm better than those guys" attitudes", a "what are they doin here - this is our spot" mindset? (and some of the "fat old guys you dis have years of experience, and can surf the hell out of these east coast waves) - take a look at yourselves, you think you are such hot sh*t - i see a lot of kooks hit one lip and think that they are the next kelly slater! chill, and let these younger and older surfers learn to have fun in the surf - because it is fun - and when it gets too crowded for you, and you want to complain, just go someplace else! when i was a kid i used to hit northside IRI all the time, bit now i haven't gone back in years - too crowded, so instead of bein all hostile, and having an attitude about "my spot" - like it ever was "my personal spot", i just go someplace else. if i have to go to the outer banks, i go (but they get their attitudes there, too, for the same reasons you do!) just listen to yourselves - I'm sure you disagree with me, but really, you aren't that special!

Nice rant, all I did is point out redundant threads. Maybe I hit a nerve?

I don't care how old/fat you are, if you're an assh*le you're an assh*le. I don't disrespect anyone who doesn't deserve it out there. You don't know the guys I'm talking about, so don't assume they have experience and can surf period. This thread is also tongue in cheek so lighten up a little. I've started stupid threads myself, but I'm ok with self-deprecation because I have thick skin.

I know it's sad, but if you're browsing this site at work like me, any new post/thread is exciting, no matter how dumb or redundant. Anything that gets me through the day....

You guys are d$cks. Surfing is not about aggression or competition; it's always been about being one with nature and finding your inner peace on the wave. No-one owns the ocean brah so I can go where I want and do what I want. I don't care if you surf a spot for years and years on a year-round basis because if I cause you issues, then YOU should accommodate ME and move to another spot. We should all share the waves together, this one surfer one wave thing is BS and never what the founders of the sport intended so why should I follow some bogus rule created by some "locals”.

    No sarcasm in the above;);););););)

PS--When do you think I can start surfing in trunks cause I don't have any wetsuits but I am a shredder and want to show off my new Hollister gear.

but but all my bros at the Hollister store say I really rip!!!!

In all seriousness, a wise man once said to me "if someone calls you a kook, you probably are one, or at least exhibited kookish behavior".
