Big money hires Big Lobbyist who rule D.C. even Bush realized it early his first term. Congress passes the Tax Code so the Corporations hire (big) Tax Lobbying Firms even though it might cost millions when you look at the future cost savings its just peanuts that just how it done inside the Beltway. It's not just GE others Corps also take advantage of the Oversea's loop holes too.

    Utah..

The deficit this past February was greater than the deficit for the whole year of 2007 (president Bush's reign)....THE WHOLE FREAKING YEAR. (look it up) Bush was a big spending republican...but get your facts straight...Obama is a straight communist tyrant globalist. You gotta wake up....stop drinking the kool aid son..

Also...the former head of GE Jeffery Immelt is now Obama's Job Czar.

Obama is a pawn of Wall Street. His whole cabinet is wall street even after campaigning that wall street was hell and he was all for main street. People bought it. Closed their eyes and buried their heads in the sand. The media refused and continues to refuse to do it's due diligence on this guy.

I don't believe everything I read, but the people in this article and the ones writing for the tribune are all military personal... So, im not sure what any of them would gain by lying to the rest of us... That wouldnt add up. .. So while I don't believe everything I read, in this particular case, I do... Its factual information... This all happened in 1995 as well. This is nothing new. The same order of operations will go forward from here. It is protocol... Protocol that is too late to change...

So again, in this case, I believe the military personal who are speaking about this because it affects them personally. It is a black and white issue. No grey area. No way to lie about it.

I always find it funny to read through politically heated conversations on surfing forums. We are really a diverse lot. We love protecting our oceans, but we despise government regulation. We savor things like publicly owned and accessible breaks, but demand the rights of exclusion. Some see eye to eye with Democrats for their favoring civil liberties and equality and view the Republicans as misguided religious totalitarians, while others view the Republicans as the protectors of individual freedoms like gun rights and capitalism and view the Democrats as a bunch of communistic bleeding hearts who want to impose government rule on how you raise your kids. Both sides are usually willing to look the other way at the faults in their own political affiliations, and are contrastingly vehement and direct in their disdain for their opposition's faults. There is, at least in most public forum arguments, almost no room for a compromising agenda in our dialog, and this is in spite of how unique, specific, and common our needs are as surfers actually are.

It really brings to light how inadequate our current political system and two-party practices actually are. (And don't even get me started on the Tea Party; I'd give them some credit for their small-government agenda if they had a competent spokesperson and weren't primarily funded by fundamentalist Christians who believe creationism should be taught as science.)

Our needs are simple: protect the ocean, let us use the ocean, let us get to the ocean, give us safe travel, let us travel, let us be.

I think it is that last one that always rings the hardest, because I think a lot of us don't recognize the hardships others of "us" face, and don't acknowledge some of the privileges a lot of us enjoy (I mean, we're all on the internet, to say the least) are the indirect result of circumstances we had no control over. Letting us be still isn't as uniformly applied as we might hope.

So, take a minute to think about how bad you've had it all your life, from when you were born to where you are now, and then think about how much worse it all could have been, and then sign a petition for a flat tax sometime - get rid of all the exceptions, exemptions, and credits and stop using tax revenue breaks to favor big businesses with powerful lobbies. Just tax everybody the same, and get lobbyists out of government. (Sorry, that's my agenda point, even though it means a lot of people would be out of a job for tax season.) ;)

    Cheers,

    -e

Good point but maybe credit is due another generation?

A confession from a Baby Boomer : my grandfather fought in France in WWI returned to the hard life carving a living on the farm, My father was born prior to the Great Depression. They never forgot how rough it was and were frugal most of their lives because of it. After Pearl Harbor, father joined the Marine Air Corp as many millions of his generation flying B-25's throughout the war. The Greatest Generation financed WWII by selling and buying war bonds. America really earned "super power" status on August 1945 thanks to the Manhattan project and the Enola Gay. These men and women after retuning home were the foundation of making a better life for themselves and their children. These were your grandfathers, grandmothers, fathers and mothers that deserve the credit. When you have known your own family and talk with survivors of the Greatest generation including those who spilled blood in Korea and Nam this is not the Country I fought for nor grew up in so what the hell have we done to ourselves. Who would ever thought in my life time after experiencing some of the worst history since WWII the selling of America. How Politicians have allowed our National Debt to exceed beyond comprehension! Indebted to a new industrialized Nations like China who for most of the latter half of the last century was our enemy. What the heck were they thinking no wonder most Americans are furious and like myself they're not going to let it go away, its who we are.....

    fuzzy math

    kool-aid indeed...
deficit is revenue in relation to expenditure. the two wars are bush's. the tax cuts are bush's. (look it up). the sh!tty economy through deregulation of housing finance and the stock market (failed businesses fire people...and the unemployed don't pay taxes) as well as shipping jobs out is pre obama (bush, clinton et al) as well. your selective memory doesn't deal with the issues, but i'm sure it makes you feel better. we all are screwed right now and the reality is that this is not an invention of a single president or congress, but a pattern established since the 80's. the chickens have come home to roost and while they are crapping on obama's head, it all trickles down to us.

Dude, its got nothing to do with religous beliefs . Students should be made aware of ideas like Irreducible Complexity and the relatively short Cambrian Period in which complex life came into existence in science class. All scientists know that theories are just theories until proven to be scientific fact.( Theory of Evolution ) It can be debated on how to do this, but for the government to just deliberately hide the idea of I.D. from students in science class IS Communism !!! :p

    haha ------> President Trump? ads.
I like how Obama started his re-election campaign, then 3 days ago when people really started getting worried, he pulled the ads. Now Trump is jumping in at a time when the the american people feel let down by their government. (even though there isnt a shutdown, they are idiots to let it get to last nights deadline)

Hmmm, come to think of it, trump knows how to handle a bankruptcy and completely f()ck over vendors from his casino days. Maybe he can do that to the nations we owe money to and just say "we're not paying you ****..!"

It's a shame obamaconned people to vote for him with false promises. Has yet to pull out troops in Iraq and Afganistan, now he invades Libya, Gitmo still open, enconomy still in shambles and getting worse. Largest debt in American history, Unemployment at a record levels and stagnant, China and Russia laughing and taking advantage of America each day. the guy has let all everyone down and doesn't seem to care.

    Re: Planned Parenthood

Attached is a pie chart showing that 97% of the services provided by Planned Parenthood go to womens health services OTHER than abortion. Only 3% of their services go to abortion services.

It is also worth noting that NO Planned Parenthoods in the state of Delaware perform abortions.
