MDSurfer, Those have always been the best racks, my last set had wood cross frames made out of teak wood with canvas straps. After roof gutters were gone gave them to Blair @ SunShine Hse years ago. Matt, If I had your Chevy van bolt on a set to the roof as you can bend the gutter clamps to fit
Two of the dumbest things car makers have ever done was to stop putting metal bumpers and rain gutters on cars. Or maybe it was devilishly smart. Now when you as much as tap another car with your plastic bumper what would have been absolutely nothing is a $1500 repair. And without rain gutters, what would have been a $50 set of roof racks that would be sturdy and last forever turns into several hundred dollar purchase from Thule or whomever.
Yeah I have rain gutters I wanna get a pair so when I goto Montunk and assateague island this summer and fall I wanna be able to keep boards suecure on the roof so I can sleep in the van at night

Those orange racks The orange ones you posted pics of are nice. i think they are earlier model and even more sought after by collectors
